We, the sisters, the daughters, try to go to Mom's every Saturday to help with chores around the house. Jim's not doing well right now (he's sick, too. He thinks it's leftover shingles, we think it...

Have you read The Tiger by Frédéric Brrémaud and Federico Bertolucci ?(https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23503834-the-tiger)
It illustrates (haha, pun intended) the beauty + ferocity thing quite well.

Because we're good enough, we're crazy enough, and doggonit, we don't even notice if people like us.
WARNING: If this makes sense to you, YOU ARE IN CRAZYPANTS LAND. If it does not make sense to you (you lucky, lucky people), I want to have what you're having.  There are more than seven reasons. There are like, all the reaso...

We went back to Crave Burger (http://craverealburgers.com/) because I thought maybe my first visit was a fluke. I don't like burger places; they usually make me feel sick to my stomach. But this place? I'd eat here every day. It is DELICIOUS! And also, not hurty in my guts.

A short series about my mom that will lead to Mother's Day - the second post.
I think it's fair to say that my mom and I have enjoyed (more often not-enjoyed) a complicated relationship over the years. This is probably true for the vast majority of mother/daughters, it seems...

The one thing I would change about my body.
Hold up. This is not an attack on body image, it's an answer to a question that comes up too often, even now when we should know better. If you could change ONE thing about your body, what would it...

Never lose your turtle again, +Chase Olivier
Austin Woods was tired of losing his pet turtle in his house, so he went about solving that annoying problem with just a balloon and piece of ribbon. via reddit

By Suzanne Palmieri "Draw me a mermaid," she demanded. "I don't do it right, remember?" "Please, Mama?" We were living in a tiny apartment in the Bronx off Fordham Road, and it was raining so we couldn't go to the park. Instead, my little girl was coloring. About a week before, I'd taken her to the

I love this story.
Remember back when I won a book on Goodreads and it led to me accidentally working with an author? On May 13th, that manuscript, the one I got to read and puzzle over and love - it was published. S...

A short series about my mom that will lead to Mother's Day because I am awfully clever and plan ahead well. :/
I've written, a time or two, about my horrible mother and the awful things she did to us (like lying about bread and telling us the bug museum was boring) Seriously, our childhoods were so miserabl...

I never preach. Really. I don't tell people what to do, unless they are related to me, in which case I am bossy in a HIGHLY manipulative way. (Just ask my daughters). I believe that everyone walks their own road, in their own...
