Just finished install of #snapt  Accelerator, a great management management front end for #haproxy  and #nginx  , had some challenges getting it fully functionally for #ubuntu   12.04.

Tip: If you are giving this a try, and want to use nginx to proxy web sockets(you need nginx 1.4 for this) , make sure you install nginx using the Ubuntu PPA, as described at http://wiki.nginx.org/Install.  I could not get the source build to run without segfaulting...

Just saw a post like this for the first time, notice the preview pic is a strip down the side. +Guy Kawasaki , do you know if this is AB testing, a bug, or a subtle new feature... :)

Over time, most of our memories fade, but for people with #PTSD, fearful and painful memories remain sharp and ever-present. A new study in Neuron shows how the activity of a gene known as Tet1 could help these memories fade. Researchers at #MIT knew that Tet1 was highly expressed in the brain, and thought it was important to memory and learning. But when they created Tet1 knockout mice, the researchers found that these animals didn't shown signs of difficulties creating new memories. However, in a fear conditioning test, the fear levels Tet1 knockout mice declined much more rapidly than in control mice. Further experiments showed that Tet1 is involved with DNA methylation and the researchers believe that a certain level of methylation is required to turn on genes directly involved in memory formation. They believe that by altering Tet1 expression, they can perhaps create a compound to help people after experiencing a traumatic event.

Going crazy with esxi and cloning...  #vmware is really driving me crazy... But looking at #opensource  alternatives, looks like I need tons of hardware that can't be used as processing nodes (controllers, etc.)

#openstack  , #xenserver  people, is it as involved as it looks?
ESXi acts as a really flexible and powerful monster of an operating system which can easily divvy up your server's physical hardware in to virtualised components. These components can then be share...
