Mmm very cute little thing and a good photo too. I have a mass of these Redpoles in my garden throughout the winter as there are lots of birch/alder and oak trees plus feeders for them. They love niger seed.

Bird Photographing - birding, bird identification, birds by behaviour - #BirdSpeciesLink #BirdsInFocus
Introduction
Photo page for all free living, wild birds - Photos of birds caught in I do not will to publish. Published photos must to be taken to respect ethical values - take a photo on the bird's terms. Bird is the key - in focus.  This is the #BirdSpeciesLink home page.

Risto Talman is the curator of this page.

Progress report and participants of #BirdSpeciesLink (6th October 2013) - http://goo.gl/i9dPcA :
924 different bird species http://goo.gl/BBJdd and 1348 photo links in total. The master file is http://goo.gl/Q8xaV - occasionally updated. Qualified participants of the project is 91 people in total.

Worldwide Bird Species = #BirdSpeciesLink
If you like to have your Google Plus photo posts to be hyperlinked into the spreadsheet, see the master file http://goo.gl/Q8xaV, please go through these five steps:
  1. Follow this page - add +Birds in Focus  into your circles,
  2. Use the hashtag #BirdSpeciesLink, it gives me the authorization to put the photo link into the master file catalog, which is occasionally updated, so add the following phrase:  #BirdSpeciesLink curated by +Risto Talman +Birds in Focus
  3. Identify the bird, add English or Scientific (Latin) name
  4. Add the country / continent of the photo taken, and
  5. Post the photo publicly - like this, http://goo.gl/hfj8s
  • The aim of this project is to get together different worldwide bird species as much as possible. If there are multiple candidates per one item (species), I'll make the choice. Some species need two or more photo links: one for male or female or according to the seasonal plumage, adult or juvenile etc.
  • The catalog is suitable for bird identifications, e.g. If you still have bird identification problems, for further questions use the Google Plus page +Bird ID and the hashtag #BirdID in the post, or ask for the identification in a new community "Birding" http://goo.gl/yQLmj.
  • In the near future, this master file data could be open and free to you for further editing.
  • I reserve the right to change the way how to update the master file.
  • I apologize in advance if I do not notice someone's send image in the stream #BirdSpeciesLink.
  • The master file can contain later deleted images (dead links) by the owner, I would ask you for the feedback of these shortcomings.
  • This project takes place only here in Google+
  • Please, send me any of your suggestions to develop further this project!
Let's go and collect together the common Google Plus photo resource of the Worldwide Bird Species - Welcome!

Best regards, Risto Talman
