Long and the short of it is that we've allowed a new, hereditary aristocracy to persuade us that our best interests are aligned with theirs.Oh, they're smarter in many ways than the nobility of the pa...

Die Schweiz diese Tage. Da kommt die Sehnsucht wieder hoch. Naja, vielleicht macht ja eines Jahres das Knie wieder mit.

And another one considering the "elections" in the USA.

One word: plutocracy. It's not even "plutocratic oligarchy" anymore as I liked to call it. This is pure plutocracy.

These wealthy patrons are fueling super PACs for Gingrich, Huntsman and Santorum.

Interesting article on wikipedia on this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anacyclosis
Following that theory, the US (and other western countries) could be on the verge of a change in political system :)

Found this link inside a reshared article on G+ (so much for transitive). The silent revolution - as I like to call it - is still hot and running. Bankruptcies all around seem to be a positive indicator so far:

Waldbesitzer fürchten Stürme wie sonst nur den Borkenkäfer oder Feuer. Doch der Wald kehrt nach Windbruch mächtig zurück, wenn man ihn lässt - stabiler als zuvor und billiger als durch Anpflanzungen.

Very interesting how the "family values" political right wing is now beginning to pick apart Mitt Romney. In the current economic and political climate, Obama will just have to continue where those wingnuts have stopped by the time primaries are over. He is as good as reelected. Some ambitious journalist will deliver the article about Bain in the coming months. I cannot imagine how Romney will survive that:

My best bet: why look further - or even far - west, when it's all right at your door ...
A nuclear scientist is killed after a suspected bomb exploded in a car in northern Tehran, reports say, the latest in a string of such nuclear-linked attacks.

Remember Japan in the 1980s? The Tigers in the 1990s? And yes, China will hit the wall at some point. This decade. The correlation with skycraper building is interesting:

There is an "unhealthy correlation" between the building of skyscrapers and subsequent financial crashes, according to Barclays Capital.
