BLT Team and Houston AMSAT Net Participants,

Hector CO6CBF/KF5YXV was the official balloon handler today at the AMSAT Lunch at Pappa’s BBQ. Thomas’ (KT5TK) latest creation – a Pecan 5a with solar cells and LiPo battery headed into the sky under a mylar party balloon. It was a bit breezy, but the balloon went up well and was cruising nicely. As I type this, it is at 12,275’ traveling at 19 MPH just NE of 59-S and 610-W. Be sure to track it via http://aprs.fi as KT5TK-5! Conditions are good for a fast flight to the NE.

I just got to be a guest on Embedded.fm and had a great time sharing all the fun things that we get to do on the balloon launches and with ham radio technology in general.  The episode will post later this week.  Please drop by their website and give it a listen!  Their shows are always interesting (so I am not sure how I got to be on one, but I am honored).
Definitely recommended podcast/stream. We talked about  #maker #makermovement #amsat #satellites #arrl
 #hamradio #AmateurRadio and other stuff.

I set up a Google+ community for us to share project information and to have occasional hangouts to allow non-local people to stay involved.
