Last summer, Texas changed its beer rules to allow breweries to sell their beer for people to drink at a brewery taproom. But for some of Austin's breweries, the city's rules have, until now, meant on-site sales require either becoming a brewpub or getting a rezoning and a liquor license.
​The Austin City Council approved a measure that allows breweries in the city to sell beer for on-site consumption.

The plan uses a number of new bus transit services in the area stretching broadly north of Austin to include Round Rock, Georgetown and Pflugerville. The corridor is one of the Austin region's fastest growing segments, with more than half of the population of Williamson and Travis County expected to live in the area by 2035.
Project Connect's northern corridor team has completed its planning process and unveiled a transit plan intended to connect the cities and suburbs north of Austin.

Although Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said this week that the competition for Tesla Motors Inc. planned $5 billion electric battery factory might be down to three states, a Tesla spokeswoman said Wednesday that Texas and three other states still are in the running for the plant.
Tesla was unsuccessful in its bid to get the Arizona Legislature to change auto sales rules to allow Tesla to sell directly to consumers.

The company is also moving ahead with its cancer treatment efforts and in January received approval from European regulators to launch a Phase 3 patient study for its Xilonix colorectal therapy.
The former high-profile Dell executive will become general counsel of an Austin drug developer.
