I recently stayed with a group of friends in the five cabins referred to as "Huntsman Hollow." The cabins were very nice, and it was more like a B&B than I thought it would be. I expected more ruggedness, and was pleasantly surprised by some of the micro-conveniences that were there; AC in the cabins, a coffee pot, soap and towels. The actual castle was great as well. We could hike 1/4 mile up a hill to it, or just drive.we had complimentary breakfast in the castle, as well as went to the pub and played some board games there. It is in the woods, in the middle of the wilderness. You won't get cell reception, embrace that now, and download your map offline. Enjoy!

We stayed for our anniversary and it was a wonderful time. The board game library is fairly extensive and a good representation of all genres. The grounds are beautiful, secluded, and quiet. Rooms were clean and cozy. Breakfast was tasty and the dinner was delicious and well worth the extra money. The massage add on was an added bonus and was a great cap off to outlr trip. We also recommend the train ride in Nelsonville!

Great place, very friendly inn-keeper. Loads of board games available if you're in a group. Some DVD's to take to your rooms as well. No cell reception [shocking] but they have a land-line to call pizza places and whatnot. They are a dry county area, so no beer on sundays.. can be a bummer. The cottages outside are really nice and cozy.

My third visit and it was amazing. The rooms and staff are warm and inviting. Board games abound as do fine beverages. A great weekend escape.

My friends and I go to the tavern at Ravenswood at at least once a month. The staff is incredibly nice and the drink prices aren't bad. The food is also good, but the pub food is somewhat limited. I have heard that the food for customers staying the night is great though, just haven't experienced it myself. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

We came for a family mini vacation. 15 of us on total with 3 cabins and 1 cottage rented. We had the best time ever! The cabins are well equipped and very comfortable. The breakfast (included) was good and it was so much fun to dine in the castle. We played so many games and the staff were very knowledgeable about them. The caretakers are a wonderfull couple and their daughter is adorable. Very attentive staff and made our weekend one we would want to repeat again snd again!

Truly fabulous castle in the woods. It provides a wonderful medieval atmosphere without being cheesy at all. They have excellent libraries of games, books, and movies, and homemade baked goods and casseroles for breakfast! Beautiful grounds, and the staff is very friendly and helpful!

Thanks for leaving a review Maryanne! We're glad you enjoyed your stay! If it's not too much trouble, could I ask you to leave this review on Tripadvisor as well? It's the best way to share what we're all about with the travelling public! Thanks! http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g50741-d80850-Reviews-Ravenwood_Castle-New_Plymouth_Ohio.html

My fiance and I drove from Columbus to Logan to visit Ravenswood Castle, about 1.5 hours. Once we arrived, we were told that the pub was only available to guests. This contradicts their website and the billboards on the way there that say the pub is open to the public. My fiance also emailed them a few days prior to our trip to confirm we could eat and drink at the pub, to which they replied it was not a problem. The communication was very poor. We ended up driving to Athens for dinner. As an overnight guest, you may have a better experience. But as visitors, we were very disappointed.

Thank you for your interest in Ravenwood Castle. I apologize for the miscommunication you experienced, and for any confusion. As our website states the Pub is open to the public most Friday and Saturday evenings. It is important to note that the Pub is closed during special events, and Pub service is suspended briefly during Great Hall dining. It was during the Great Hall dining period that you arrived, and you were mistakenly informed that the Pub was unavailable to off site guests for the entire night, not just for a brief period. I apologize again for that miscommunication. We are retraining the staff member involved to make sure it does not happen in the future. We would also like to invite you back for a complimentary meal in the Pub. Please contact us and ask for Amy if you would be willing to give us another try. On a side note, you mention that you saw billboards indicating that the Ravenwood pub is open to the public. If you would be able to provide me more details on that I would appreciate it. We do not actually have any billboards, and if someone else's is causing confusion I would like to address it.
