Though Sri Lanka is considered to be leading in Financial Inclusion in South Asia with 82.5% of population banked, the industry must not be complacent and work towards filling that gap.

Other considerations that must also be looked at is beyond access to account but the quality and channels of accessing financial products.

ANz's approach to drive M-Wallet adoption is rather interesting where the automatically issue a virtual card to the customers who's lost their credit cards while waiting for a physical one to be replaced.

According to the article, 670,000 cards a reported missing per annum.
