San Diego Symphony names new CEO. Martha Gilmer, Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s vice president of artistic planning and audience development, begins her tenure in San Diego on September 24. She succeeds current CEO Edward B. ‘Ward’ Gill who has served in his role for more than 10 years highlighted by San Diego Symphony’s centennial celebration in 2010 and debut at Carnegie Hall and tour of China in 2013.
Welcome to San Diego. Our k-12 and college students need access to symphonic programs that motivate them to explore classical and modern accoustic music creation and performance as a career choice. Thank you for joining the Symphony and for bringing your expertise to continue the trend in bringing high quality music to our neighborhood. (Contact the many community bands / orchestras for local area concert possibilities too.)
