Farnsworth Offices respects the work-life balance that is so important in today’s business world, and to that end, we’re offering up an exciting new program in our Coffee and Conversation series.

Most of us have heard about Tai Chi, but not as many know how this approach to health, wellness, and stress relief can be used for our personal benefit. Don Myers of Silver Ox Tai Chi in Geneva will be offering a free presentation at Farnsworth Offices on Tuesday, March 22 at 12:30 pm.

Silver Ox Tai Chi teaches several traditional Qigong and Tai Chi methods specifically chosen for their health and stress relief benefits to modern-day Westerners, including Dragon and Tiger Qigong, Longevity Breathing Qigong, and the Wu Tai Chi Short Form, which consists of a four to five minute sequence of precisely choreographed movements, practiced in a slow, meditative manner. The movements are specifically designed to help one develop calmness, flexibility, coordination, balance, stamina, and greater energy. The Wu style emphasizes small, compact movements, and its high stance and low‐impact movements are easy on the joints, improving their flexibility and mitigating arthritis. Practicing this form offers the majority of the health and spiritual benefits of the Tai Chi long forms.

Don Myers has over 25 years of experience as a practitioner of Tai Chi & Qigong, and has been teaching for nearly 20 years. His main teacher is Taoist Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis. Don has received seven Instructor Certifications through Master Frantzis’ Energy Arts program (www.EnergyArts.com).

Farnsworth Offices’ Coffee and Conversation: Tai Chi Work-Life Balance is part of a series of Coffee and Conversation topics hosted by Farnsworth Offices at 1444 North Farnsworth Avenue in Aurora. Attendees wishing to participate are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes. More information is available by phoning 630-585-1250.

Farnsworth Offices’ Coffee and Conversation features a free 2015 Income Tax Update

Want to know how changes in the tax code may affect your business, as well as your personal taxes? Farnsworth Offices will host a free income tax informational program at their building on Wednesday, February 24th to help you prepare this year’s taxes.

Stephen Ver Halen, an independent C.P.A., will discuss recent changes to the tax code that will affect businesses, including the Protecting Americans from Tax Hike Act of 2015, which makes permanent several tax provisions from recent years. These include the $500,000 Expensing Limit for Equipment Purchases under Code Section 179. Changes for individuals under the Act include the Enhanced Earned Income Tax Credit and the Enhanced Child Tax Credit, and the deduction for state sales tax in lieu of state income tax. Mr. Ver Halen also plans to discuss the Bonus Depreciation for Purchases of Equipment, which was recently extended.

Farnsworth Offices’ Coffee and Conversation: a 2015 Income Tax Update is part of a series of “Coffee and Conversation” business-related topics hosted by Farnsworth Offices at 1444 North Farnsworth Avenue in Aurora.
