The #metoo movement has made many men feel they have no ability to defend themselves, they’re simply resigning & using defamation to come back against the woman concerned, as they’d feel they’ve been unjustly accused, they have no other vehicle having retrospectively lost their reputation & job.

Can we ever trust Australian Banks again? Thumbs down from the cartoonists.
The Royal Commission into the Australian Financial Sector revealed endemic corruption & moral bankruptcy even worse than imagined . No prosecutions for systemic crimes destroying ordinary people’s lives. Few believe anything will change .

The concept of exponential growth in a world of finite resources was once just a vague distant fear some had but now stares us in the face as impending catastrophe - the tragedy of loss of species, mass extinctions, dwindling biodiversity, massive forest clearing, nature is in retreat - we are the last generation who has any chance of holding back these forces and making changes to protections and regulation that can address the many factors caused by human over population and overdevelopment of the world's finite resources before there is no pristine wild places left and loss of habitat and pollution causes the permanent loss of the beauties that nature bestowed upon this remarkable planet. It is up to each individual with a conscience to fight for saving the remnants of beauty and the species we share this home with. Agitate with all your power to make leaders listen! Educate those around you in sustainable practices. Fight plastic pollution and over development. Help raise awareness. www.publicgroup.com.au

Studies show that 60% of the world's wildlife has vanished in the past 50 years. At this rate we face a world without wildlife within the next 30-40 years! This is a remarkable tragedy for the world, for the quality of human life, for future generations. The lack of consciousness and will among political leaders to work together to get a universal solution to the loss of biodiversity and wildlife habitat, to plastic pollution, over population, climate change, over development, rampant deforestation, poaching, trophy hunting, loss of natural reserves - all the many factors of human over population is a great historical crime and failure of vision. These are critical times for the future of the planet as we know and love it. Agitate with all your power to help bring about change.

Hate speech across the US and Europe targeting refugees normalises attacks on people on the basis of race, gender, nationality and religion.
Divisive and dehumanised rhetoric create a more divided and dangerous world.

Venezuela's new tyrant, President Maduro, clings to power because he’s trapped. Every alternative arrangement sounds like prison to him. That being the case, he’s not so much governing Venezuela anymore as using the failed socialist state as a protective cocoon: His one last alternative to a life behind bars. Meanwhile rampant hyperinflation, food & medicine shortages, harsh political crackdowns make life miserable for a once wealthy nation.

Partisan gerrymandering suppresses the responsiveness of elections, stifling the translation of more votes for one party into additional legislative seats. Currently, Democratss could require more than 55% of the 2 party vote to win 50% of the seats in the US Congress. A flaw in the system?

These cartoons are definitely not particularly funny. This is the world's leading cartoonists savagely trying to get Humanity to respond to one of the greatest human tragedies to occur since World War II. Millions starve to death as Saudi Arabia and Iran fight out a proxy war - Muslim against Muslim - for power and influence in the Middle East. The USA & UK fail to interfere because of vested interest in arms sales worth billions. It's a complex scenario and no one is right - but children die or are enslaved as child soldiers, and literally millions of people are starving to death and no power is there to defend them. Cholera is rife. The UN has doubled aid but it is way too little, way too late. Our generation will be judged by history for allowing this to happen.

We love the questioning and rebellious spirit of good street art and individually the images are skilful and clever, among the decay of the streetscape. Democracy is seething with discontent and divisiveness right now, it’s edgy and people are discontent with corporate dominated, big money politics, as meanwhile life gets tighter, crazier - it’s bound to come out in the graffiti.

We appreciate the great graphic design , and street art celebrates diversity of opinion... and adds colour, passion and humour to a drab urban landscape in an attempt to make people think outside the status quo ... better some attempt at dialogue & comment than mindless vandalism and self promoting tags !

Good politics is finding common ground when there is a conflict of interest. Compromise: each party gives up part of their demand, finding agreement through communication, a mutual acceptance of terms—perhaps involving variations from an original goal or desires. In a post-truth era with a climate of divisiveness and hate speech there is little attempt at civilised reasoned debate, all pretence at mature civility is abandoned, and pragmatic solutions in the name of the national interest and quality of life are lost in an harsh distrustful atmosphere of extremism.
