The beaches on Treasure Island are amazing. They have the largest length of sand, out of all the local beaches. There are plenty of cabanas for rent along the shore line. They have several volleyball nets for public usage. There are two spots for showering off. One is a public spot near 105th. The other is near 112th and is rented out by a snack stand. You have to pay a $1.00 for showering off, but I cannot describe how clean this public shower is. I would happily pay $1.00 every time! You can have alcohol on the beaches here as long as you don't have glass bottles. Which is wonderful for all day events. Also the have "Free Beach Taxies" here! If you have too much to drink, they drive you back to your hotel or restaurant for a tip! $10-15 is well worth many lives folks! Way to go. The local spots are amazing. Foxy's has wonderful food and if you go there, ask for Hula. Her service is amazing. VIP is worth the hour wait that you will have around dinner. Ricky T's is known for the music they host. CJ's on the Island has flipped the script on success here. If you are looking for a happening spot on a Monday, this is the place to go! They have live music earlier in the evening and two DJ's that start at ten pm. Their drink specials will keep you dancing the night away. It draws in the younger crowd on Mondays also. So if you are in your 20's and trying to get away from the Q tips, during snow bird season, you just found your reprieve.

Just had a stop here this morning n the weather was gloomy windy. Although there was some sporadic rain showers but it was done around 12pm. The beach was clean n nice. The sand wasnt as soft n smushy like the one in Clearwater beach. There were lots of little shell clams in the sand. Parking is at this public lot for 1.75 an hour. And there are public rest rooms. The wave here a bit strong. I think it is dur to the weather today.

Treasure Island was a decent beach, but we felt that it was a little odd- the sand felt very dense and concrete-like. Maybe we were just at the wrong part of the beach. For those that enjoy cultural activities, there was an awesome sand sculpture display/competition for visitors to view (and you could get pretty close!). There was also musicians playing drums and flutes, many kite-fliers, and plenty of room to spread out and not be on top of other beach-goers.
