I am going to be truthful and longwinded. I want to point out some of the positive aspects first. The owner makes beautiful beaded necklaces! The property is lovely! My daughter LOVED the ride! She is 14 and when we planned our family trip we promised her horseback riding. With that in mind in conjunction with her age, safety is not regarded as a huge factor. She did have a "good horse" it stayed on the path and followed her directions. My husband, my son and myself however struggled greatly. The horses we had did what they wanted which included going off path instilling great fear and surmounting to a traumatic event for myself. I tried my best to keep my composure and failed when I broke into tears after I was injured 5 minutes into the ride. Yes the guides were sympathetic to me at this point however when I told them I was not ok they simply waited 6 horses behind me looking blankly at me offering no further "guidance" awkward moment of silence while I cried not wanting to continue.....I was then approached and told that by me being scared that the horse would sense it and be uncomfortable. Nothing was offered to me even though I voiced twice that I could not continue. So.... I continued. I was able to duck the branches for the most part but in doing so at one point the horse (off path again) severely rammed my left leg into the side of a tree. Within minutes I could see blood coming through my jeans. I did not ask for a refund at the time of return, I was in awe and just wanted to leave. My son had voiced to me that he also was frightened during most of the ride. I should also note that there was little to no instruction given by the guides. Although they were nice, the instruction given was only within earshot of the first 4-5 riders. Myself and those behind me were on our own. When we were assisted in getting on the horses, the instructions were literally 30 seconds of how to get the horse to turn and stop. This DIDN'T matter to half of the riders as the horses did what they wanted to do anyway. I will never return to this place and I hope that in reading this and other similar reviews, the owner can change some practices around the place. the horses were reckless and exhausted. the paths are not maintained. I DO understand minimal ducking is often involved in riding but not every other minute combined with worrying about your leg getting torn off. I truly hope and pray that nobody gets seriously injured here. We did this for our daughter and we are so glad that she lucked out and enjoyed it greatly. I am now able to watch all the bruising change colors on my left leg. yippee. And our son will have to be bribed to ever go riding again. Shaking our heads. Long review I know. I apologize but I take safety very seriously.

We had fun the horses were well kept and the course was nice. Not a fast pace but still fun. The guides are volunteers so your milage may vary, but ours were great. We had a good time.

Call the number. The voicemail alone inspired me to never give this place my business. Good job.

I bought a Groupon to try this place out but after the initial phone call to make a reservation I asked for my money back. The women, who I assume is one of the owners, was rude and seemed to dislike that I had a Groupon. The interaction made me feel that she did not care to have my business so I called Groupon and they graciously gave me a full refund.

Groupon buyers beware!! I bought a Groupon for me and my 9 year old. When I called to make the reservation and told her I had the Groupon she became rude. She wanted to charge me extra for the time I had to choosen to ride because they were supposedly completely booked on the weekends. She also made it clear that because of the 22.00 price it was my responsibility to pay the guide. I called back to change my reservation and she started yelling and told me she was done with me and my Groupon. I had also asked her if my 9 year old should wear a helmet and she told me she didn't care what we did she was not the parent. I have of course gotten my money back and have gone elsewhere to ride. The Natchez Trace stables require children to wear helmets and seem to really care about the riders and their horses. She should realize that a Groupon is designed so people can try out a business for a great price. We have revisited several business we discovered through Groupon.
