I know what I want for Christmas! Who wants a letter from me in the New Year? :)

Just premiered video for Adele's song "Someone Like You." Cannot get over how visually beautiful this video is. I just love how the simplicity of it emphasizes her amazing voice.

Officially going to see Bela Tarr's The Turin Horse and Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums 10th Anniversary showing at the NYFF. Now if only I could get tickets to see Steve McQueen's Shame...

Had to get a new water bottle today because +Sarah Figueroa and +Adam Jaffe dropped my old one into the Bay...#itsOKilikethisonebetter

I really loved this advice and wish more people did this. Looking back, I'm very guilty of complimenting little girls on their appearance before anything else. Where have my feminist instincts gone? I'm going to ask about books!

Thank you Tumblr, for always bringing the accuracy to da house.

What happened in Norway just breaks my heart. I wish people who are dissatisfied with their government wouldn't result to violence to enact change.

"Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time; the need for mankind to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Mankind must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love."

As a resident of NYC, I find the possibility of terrorism on the subway harrowing. It's a thought that crosses my mind every time I see a police officer outside the turnstile. While I don't believe in a police state, I do believe in a government keeping its cities safe. Lots of the comments made bother me, especially the ones that think more security means the appearance of "big brother." One person even quoted Benjamin Franklin "Those that give up freedom for security deserve neither." I'm pretty sure Ben Franklin never had to worry about suicide bombers or automatic weapons. If Franklin saw the weapons available now he'd shit his pants. Of course I don't support the idea of a tyrannical government, but nor do I think heightened security will cause it. Plus, if a terrorist attack were to happen again, people would be crying out, why didn't the government do anything? Damned if you do, damned if you don't. What do you guys think?
