The technology behind Chris Evans' fantastic transformation from manorexic to the perfect human specimen.
Have you guys been wondering how they made perfect-human-specimen Chris Evans, look manorexic and inches shorter for Captain America: The First Avenger? I know I have. Originally I thought it was the....

Call me Bel the Cockroach Killer. Now I know how Buffy the Vampire Slayer felt. Seriously, you kill one and 50 more pop up.

Haha exactly, Amy. Although I'd much prefer vampires at this point. That is, if they are all as sexy as Alexander Skaarsgard.

Just premiered video for Adele's song "Someone Like You." Cannot get over how visually beautiful this video is. I just love how the simplicity of it emphasizes her amazing voice.

I really loved this advice and wish more people did this. Looking back, I'm very guilty of complimenting little girls on their appearance before anything else. Where have my feminist instincts gone? I'm going to ask about books!
Motherhood Mondays: How to talk to little girls. This Saturday, Toby and I were riding the bus downtown, when a six-year-old girl sat down next to us. She was wearing a white dress and sparkly red fla...

What happened in Norway just breaks my heart. I wish people who are dissatisfied with their government wouldn't result to violence to enact change.

"Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time; the need for mankind to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Mankind must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love."
—MLK
Read 'Witnesses describe scene of terror at Norway camp' on Yahoo! News. The man in the police uniform shouted for the campers to come closer. When they did, he killed them.

As a resident of NYC, I find the possibility of terrorism on the subway harrowing. It's a thought that crosses my mind every time I see a police officer outside the turnstile. While I don't believe in a police state, I do believe in a government keeping its cities safe. Lots of the comments made bother me, especially the ones that think more security means the appearance of "big brother." One person even quoted Benjamin Franklin "Those that give up freedom for security deserve neither." I'm pretty sure Ben Franklin never had to worry about suicide bombers or automatic weapons. If Franklin saw the weapons available now he'd shit his pants. Of course I don't support the idea of a tyrannical government, but nor do I think heightened security will cause it. Plus, if a terrorist attack were to happen again, people would be crying out, why didn't the government do anything? Damned if you do, damned if you don't. What do you guys think?
Read 'Post-9/11, biggest terror threat is underground' on Yahoo! News. It's the morning rush in the Times Square subway station, a routine convergence of humanity and mass transit that makes New York ...

100% agree with Micah. Pictures and videos especially when LEGALLY taken of police action on a public street is more and more dangerous. The problem is that the argument of 'they need to do this to make them safer' is largely a strawman argument that can be used for people in power to take more power. The corruption of both police departments and larger things like the TSA (or look even further at the human rights violations overseas by American contracted security forces in the name of making us safer). That is my argument exactly. Things like checking peoples laptops and phones, bags, etc are violations of civil rights and I don't think the illusion of safety is worth giving that up.
