Autumn walks are lovely at this time of year. One of my favourites is The Monsal Trail in the Peak District. There are traffic free walks ideal for all the family, or you can hire a bike and take the dog along as well. The Autumn leaves are gorgeous and there are stunning views from the Monsal Head Viaduct too.

We love it when different breeds of dog come and visit our holiday cottages. We welcome large and small and up to five dogs at any one time. So any of these cheeky pawfect friends could come and stay together if they wanted! There's so many lovely walks from the doors of both the cottages and at the end of a long days walking there's the log burners to snuggle up to. So please don't leave them at home when you book your short breaks! http://ow.ly/i/o8BtP http://ow.ly/i/o8BtZ http://ow.ly/i/o8Bu9 http://ow.ly/i/o8BE7

Our latest blog has plenty of ideas for family fun in the Peak District over October half term. Read about the amazing fireworks at Matlock Bath or the spooky mines at Alton Towers. Or visit a World Heritage site and explore our industrial past and take some walks along traffic free routes. There's something for all the family! http://ow.ly/eqt7305kd2m

Travel Stats: according to VisitEngland, 58.1 million trips were recorded in England between January and July 2015, a 13% increase in the same period in 2014. ABTA research also shows 64% of people taking at least one UK break and this looks likely to continue in 2016.
