Back at work with the MAVERIC VA team! These folks have shattered my prior (not so positive) impressions of the U.S. VA Healthcare system.

With winter hitting its peak, homes are quickly becoming tight quarters as we hole up to ride out the rest of this frosty season. It may be early for spring cleaning, but there's no time like now to make good on that resolution you've been harboring ...

Great editorial on the costs of big box stores on the economy
Kimber Lanning: If you measure the true cost of shopping at most chain stores, there simply is no reward for economies of scale.

This page lists dozens of sites where you can register to get your name off junk mail lists. If you're tired of getting junk every evening after work, this is worth a read.

To learn a computer language, you have to write something in that language, just reading the book doesn't help much. So when Swift was introduced at WWDC, I had to assign myself a project to learn the language. As Apple also announced keyboard extensions, and I've long been kicking around the ...

http://blog.obihai.com/2014/09/google-voice-and-obihai-update.html

Obhai has helped me save several hundred dollars this last few years. Google Voice support my mean fully free US calls. Going to need to try this out next week.
Obihai is excited to announce official support for Google Voice. With a Google Voice account and a companion OBi device you can make and receive VoIP calls on a regular telephone. To get started, just login to the OBiTALK website, add your OBi device and select Google Voice as your service.

Doug's is a solid, trustworthy and reasonable place to trust your bike. I am providing four out of five stars because this is a small shop and if I depended on my bike on a daily basis I would need to find someone who can turn the bike around more quickly. Nonetheless Doug is someone I am happy to pay to give me his well trained eye, high quality service and respectful attitude. In my eye he does not deserve some of these low ratings as I found him relatively easy to contact throughout the day.
