The 2013 Viper has been revealed!

8.4-liter V10 engine
640 horsepower
600 lb-ft of torque

As a Mopar diehard, I'm very excited to see the iconic Viper back in production...and it doesn't disappoint! The new lines are very reminiscent the renditions of the past, which I quite enjoy. It also stays true to heritage with the only transmission offering being a 6-speed Tremec manual. Purists rejoice! Also, in GTS trim, this beast will even add a two-mode suspension system, among other upgrades/options.

So, auto enthusiasts, what say you?
There's a new Viper, but it's no longer a Dodge. Check out the details on the 2013 SRT Viper and Viper GTS at Car and Driver.

Wow, looks like a baby Ferrari! sounds like a monster hiding under the hood, too.
Love it! The lines stay true, among other things. It has the right amount of old and new combined to make one sexy beast. I have always been a fan of the Viper and this is far from a disappointment. Love the red, but where are the classic white racing stripes we have grown to love on the Vipers?!
Previous renditions of the Viper powerplant were pretty stout, so I'm sure it was just an unnecessary expense. I think even the stock internals can handle quite a bit of power, as I've seen them running power adders with reasonable amounts of boost on stock blocks.

Now I'm interested to see how much the new forged internals can handle. And I'm sure once the Viper is out, we won't have to wait too long. No doubt there are performance shops chomping at the bit to get a hold of one and develop turbo/supercharger kits.
Yeah just wait until Hennessey Performance gets their hands on one. Who could forget the Venom 1000 twin turbo Viper they produced.
