A press release was issued today titled, "Montblanc Launches E-Commerce Website".

Montblanc officially launched its first ever e-commerce website in the US today, www.montblanc.com. In a site that showcases the refined world of Montblanc, the online boutique will allow consumers full access to Montblanc's product range of timepieces, writing instruments, men's and women's jewelry, eyewear, fragrance and leather goods.

An online experience designed to reflect Montblanc's dedication to timeless elegance and premier craftsmanship, the site features the brand's iconic collections available for purchase online for the first time. The first global Montblanc e-commerce site is linked to the Montblanc brand site so that consumers can learn about the brand's history and explore Montblanc's special commitment to cultural advancement around the world. True to Montblanc's commitment to the support of arts & culture, artists have been commissioned to create generative artwork inspired by the world of Montblanc which can be viewed on the newly launched website.

"The launch of a transactional website is an exciting phase in Montblanc's very long history. While our shopping experience in store remains at the core, we are thrilled to be able to offer our exciting range of products to a wider audience, while maintaining a quality shopping experience," said Jan-Patrick Schmitz, CEO of Montblanc North America.

Montblanc's e-commerce site will prominently feature its collection of Swiss Timepieces. Montblanc timepieces are the product of the finest craftsmanship and Swiss watch making tradition. True to the brand's commitment to quality and detail, each piece is designed and crafted to the highest standards in both Montblanc's Le Locle and Villeret manufactures. Montblanc is now one of an exclusive group of watch manufactures in the world able to cover a watch making spectrum that extends from the art of haute horlogerie timepieces in its most traditional form through to the state-of-the-art innovation of today's watch industry.

In addition, the site will also display limited and special edition writing instruments, including the new Tribute to the Mont Blanc Collection – which pays tribute to Europe's iconic highest summit. The range not only features a unique interpretation of the iconic Meisterstuck Writing Instrument in lacquered snow white, but also includes jewelry and leather pieces inspired by the snow, ice and rocky surfaces that make up the Mont Blanc mountain.

The online boutique will also feature the Diva Collection, including screen icons Ingrid Bergman, Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich as well as the John Lennon Special Limited Edition Writing Instrument, with fine and silver jewelry and leather goods. Montblanc is expanding the brand's reach into the realm of online shopping.

Montblanc's site will also feature a new contest to celebrate the 190th anniversary of the chronograph's invention by Nicolas Rieussec: The Beauty of a Second short-film contest. Presented by film-director Wim Wenders, The Beauty of a Second is an online tribute to this small unit of time. Everyone is invited to capture beauty in a one-second-long video and upload it. The task is to "seize the moment" and catch a second that the author considers beautiful. Online, people can vote for the best one-second videos, from amongst which Wim Wenders and his jury will pick a winner.

In 1989 TSE, was set up as a cashmere house in order to create an American brand that could compete in the luxury market. TSE was formed with the intention of redefining the use of cashmere and rarefied materials for a luxury brand.

Among the prestigious designers who have contributed to the brand, Brian Reyes is the latest, in a line of designers that bring TSE into the public eye. Previous designers include Jason Wu, Melanie Ward, Tess Giberson, Richard Chai, Hussein Chalayan, Victor Alfaro, Narciso Rodriguez.

TSE has been the leader in taking a modern approach to cashmere, altering the perception that luxury has to be traditional. By expanding the possibilities of the fiber and paying close attention to every detail, TSE has become a label for the modern consumer who appreciates simple luxury, great quality and beautifully designed product. The brand priority is to be known for the highest quality standards, infused with a modern style sensibility. TSE has expanded this philosophy beyond cashmere, developing the collection into a complete modern expression of dressing, making it a true lifestyle brand. TSE continues to redefine the use of cashmere and other luxurious fabrics with the collections: TSE MEN, tsesay, TSE home and TSE baby.

The TSE collections are currently available at retailers and freestanding TSE stores worldwide. TSE opened its New York flagship in 2008 and is currently expanding retail stores throughout Asia.

Nicole Miller started as luxury fashion. What was the effect when the brand went into J.C. Penney in 2005?

Nicole Miller is an American fashion designer, born in Texas and raised in Lenox, Massachusetts.

Miller attended the Rhode Island School of Design where she earned a BFA in Apparel Design. She studied for a year at L'Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne where she was trained to drape fabric and study the classical techniques of couture. Miller described her Parisian training as "intense," but explained that it gave her training in fabric manipulation, which became a signature of her designs.

After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Miller interned with legendary dress designer Clovis Ruffin in New York City. Miller began working as head designer at P.J. Walsh, a dress manufacturer. There, she was hired by the president of the company, Bud Konheim. Konheim said one of the reasons he hired Miller was for her belief that design and business can be successful combination. In 1982, Konheim started the company Nicole Miller with Nicole.

Miller's first shop opened in 1986 on Madison Avenue. The brand has grown to several boutiques in major cities across the United States and is sold in a number of high-end department stores.

Her modern design aesthetic is known for its bright prints and patterns.

Miller made headlines in September 1998 by presenting her spring 1999 clothing line one week ahead of her French counterparts, becoming the first American to do so.

Since 2005, Miller has designed a line of affordable clothes, handbags, footwear, fashion jewelry and other accessories for J.C. Penney. J.C. Penney credits this collaboration as result of extensive customer input.

Celebrities of varying ages including Angelica Huston, Beyonce Knowles, Angelina Jolie, Brooke Shields, Leann Rimes, Lauren Hutton, Jennifer Stone, Susan Sarandon and Eva Longoria have worn her designs.

Currently, Miller's women's collection apparel is sold in more than 1,200 independent specialty stores and namesake boutiques in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia and in the affluent resort town of La Jolla. Her fashion line has also sold in department stores such as, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom.

If you know more information about this fashion brand, the stores, or the designers behind the brand, please share your thoughts or questions in the comment area below.

According to the Ibtimes.com website, Luxury Brand Retailers Can Barely Keep Up With Consumer Demand

The article that have posted earlier this month indicated that, "Upscale fashion retailer Saks Incorporated (NYSE:SKS) is up 26.87 percent for that period. High-end jeweler Tiffany and Co. (NYSE:TIF) is up 27.93 percent. Fine leather handbag maker Coach, Inc. (NYSE:COH) is up 31.76 percent. Luxury goods designer Ralph Lauren Corp. (NYSE:RL) is up a dizzying 48.52 percent. Liz Claiborne, Inc., which saw its stock price jump after the announcement earlier in the quarter that it had completed its move to a pure-luxury player, is up 94.67 percent." The article goes on to say, "The reasons for these companies’ outstanding performances vary, but most subscribe to a similar narrative. Following a trend that’s been in play since at least mid-2010, retailers have been able to sell an increasing number of items without the discounts they were forced to apply during the worst of the 2009 financial panic. Pricing moves have been such that, in spite of the inflationary pressures on cotton and precious metals that translated into higher cost for these retailers, all reported higher gross margins in their latest quarterly reports."
