I just got a new 15-inch MacBook Pro, my sixth Mac. (Both my two iMacs are still in service.) Somewhere in Preferences there is a place where I was able to change the action of the Caps Lock and Control keys, something I have done since the early nineties in my Unix and Linux days. I would like to put the Control function on the Caps Lock key (the most useless key in the entire world), because I use it constantly (in Emacs) and make the Control key a dead key.

I've been prowling through the Preferences and can't find where to do that. Can someone give me a pointer?

A few photos from my bike path outing this afternoon. Nice day.

This kid seems to have no physical limits. I don't know where it comes from. I've never heard anything quite like it.

Not my usual fare, but I was fourth row on the aisle for this concert in Newport, Kentucky (right across the river from Cincinnati). Loved every minute.

Good article. Superlative blog. I haven't read many articles from it lately, but I used to check it daily. Glad to see most of the same people are contributors (top level language people) and that the blog is going strong.

It doesn't get any better than this.

My son-in-law and daughter have been putting up a bunch of Isaac videos (the whole collection must number around 150). I've stopped posting them to G+ automatically. This one is particularly fun, though. It's a beautiful day, and Isaac is in a mood to run and explore.

This piece just sparkles. The guitarist is quite good, very aggressive and confident. I've heard her play other things that are quite good as well.

I listen to this YouTube channel frequently. It's apparently a guitar shop that deals in professional quality instruments. They bring in world class or aspiring to be world class musicians who get to play on one of the instruments they have in the shop at the time. You can always see them in display cases in the background. The recordings are always stunning, and so are the instruments.

Oh my goodness! A modern master of the Hammond organ. He seems to be one of those guys who doesn't even have to think about it. Hands on the instrument and the music just comes out. Instant connection.
