I need this, I was hoping to go back to running, but after years of Achille's and sciatica need to make a gentle re-start. Like that it's sciencebase(d) ;-)

The answer to the question in the headline: Most of the time, yes, but some of the time, most emphatically no.
The speeds attained by world-class sprinters like Usain Bolt are simply unfathomable to me. During today's workout, I ran at nearly top speed for a set of 400-meter repetitions: About 6-minute-mile pa...

Thinking about upgrading to Lion; the only thing stopping me is lack of compatibility with Quicken. Any suggestions for alternatives? I mainly use it to track stocks/mutual funds

It's often difficult to find studies of running showing statistically significant real-world performance improvements, but here's a case where there's clear evidence of a practice that really works.

Interesting results. Feel like someone was presenting similar results (gains associated with stable blood sugar levels) a number of years back when athletes were consuming protein bars (Balance bars 40-30-30) during training (part of their sales pitch). If my memory is correct there was some data being accumulated from a college swim team (Stanford perhaps)?

For Japan, the victory in the Women’s World Cup is a break from victimhood and a chance to go wild with joy.
