Just starting to flood the Google with Nik SilverFx processing as suggested by +Stephan Bollinger and +Middleton Joshua.  As a person who used to process old B&W (Pan F was my favourite) in the 1970's/80's I like the options to dial in some grain and apply some selenium toning and stamp on some black (negative) borders - to get something like a Bill Brandt look.

This photo is an art gallery devoted to the kinetic sculptor/artist Len Lye.  It is in NZ's provincial town of New Plymouth capital of the Taranaki area.  Hat tip to +Klaus Herrmann for his Smartest Sharpening Action too!

SUPER TUESDAY in MARTON
Trump-mania has hit the small rural town of Marton in New Zealand's Rangitikei district. It's a place where Progressives, Liberals and SJW's fear to tread and with good reason. Will the ghost of Bruce Betham's Social Credit Movement re-animate this kapok filled scarecrow? Find out next week-end (the one after Easter) at Marton's Harvest Festival!

Impressive Time Travel: Bringing the old times to life

This animation was created from photos that were taken over 100 years ago. And it puts you right into that time, creating the illusion that you're there walking through the streets of New York, Boston, Detroit and Washington, D.C. around 1900. Amazing!

The creator used 3D animation techniques to make it happen.

So, it's time for you to do some time traveling now! :)

I do all of my processing with Darktable since 2014 when I switched from RawStudio.  I use this version:
https://github.com/karora/darktable

Unfortunately The Gimp is mostly 8-bpp at present - arbitrary bit depths coming when GEGL lands in the next stable release.

I might take a look at the NIK code and see if it can be made to compile on Linux, but I suspect better people than me have already looked into that...
