Building on some thoughts from +Murphy Jacobs last week I've decided to followup on a suggestion she had. I mentioned that I'm not really comfortable talking about myself, and maybe I should try doing the daily lifeblog thing I did like two years ago for like almost two whole weeks again and bring back #ViewFromMyBathroomWindow

Murphy suggested that maybe I create a small private opt-in circle of people who would like to hear more about me and my life. This sounded like a pretty good idea. So I'm gonna go for it. Why the heck not?

So this is a call for people to opt-in. Why would you want to? I dunno, I'm not you. I'm not going to be offended if you don't. (at least I don't think I will. Stupid brain.) I know people have only so many spoons.

What this is:

1) A weekly thing where I'll talk about something about me. I tried the daily thing, but frankly, I know I cant commit to doing that. I have a long commute each workday, and I like sleep, so...yeah. It's a terrible excuse, but it's realistic. I have Wednesdays off, so you're going to get these on Wednesdays.

2) It may be short, it may be long and rambly. It may be lighthearted storytelling about my life, or it may be emotional info dumps. It depends on what I'm feeling that day.

3) An AMA type Q&A. You're free to ask me anything. I'm free not to answer. If I can answer I will though. Also, sometimes I have the thing writers get when they stare at the blank screen and words don't come, so I might use questions as jumping off points for future posts.

4) A conversation. My favorite people here on teh plus have their daily updates or whatever and some other peoples who show up for support or to talk about their day or whatever. I like that. It's cool. Participation is not mandatory, but is appreciated.

What this isn't

1) Asking for people to fix my problems. Some things I will probably write about will suck. I might get angry or sad. I will mostly write about it to get it out there and out of my head. Most of the people I follow and who would see this know this already.

2) Fishing for sympathy. Again, mostly to just get things out of my head. However, there is that line from Callahan's "Shared pain is lessened and shared joy is increased." so take it as you will.

3) I dunno what else. I'm not in it for attention, but it would be nice to know someone's listening.

So, let me know what you think, and if you want in. Enjoy the view.

This happened to me too a couple weeks ago. The email notifications I received were limited to people in a) notification circles that b) posted to collections.

Most were from +Edward Morbius
I just discovered that my Email and Phone notifications on Google+ had been changed (I am assuming from an update).

I have mine ALL turned off. If you do too (because wtf, why on Earth would I want emails about G+ activity?!) then you might want to check and turn those switches back off.

If you enjoy SF short stories, this anthology is free currently. It has a Halcyone Space short story in it by yours truly: TREASON'S COURSE, which tells the backstory of Emmaline Gutierrez from about 40 years before the events in the novels.

+Bliss Morgan have you heard about the patreon fee structure update? You likely got an email about it from the. Patrons are supposed to get one tomorrow. It will likely hurt creaters with a small patrons base like you.
