Are you trying to introduce a new skill to your management team? We can help! Working with one of the largest retailers in the country, we developed a program that gave their managers an opportunity to practice new coaching skills in a dynamic and experiential context. Along the way, they were able to receive valuable peer feedback while also building relationships and sharing a memorable few hours together.

Another great program with Experian Consumer Direct, this time at the San Diego Marriott Marquis! Competing in a series of fast and fun contests to earn bike parts, each team was responsible for building bikes for the Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim and the Children’s Hospital of Orange County. We applaud Experian for their generous contributions to the local community!

Have trouble harnessing the creative power of your team? Innovative solutions to complex problems often require the collective wisdom of your entire team. The challenge is in pulling ideas forth and combining them into workable strategy options. Teams can be understandably reluctant to test new ideas when failure could result in a real loss to the organization. This is why facilitated team challenges can be a powerful solution as it provides the team opportunities to learn how to communicate, collaborate, and problem-solve without the risk of consequential failure. In other words, teams get to practice all aspects of a project life-cycle without the pain of low performance. #solutions

Have you ever been curious about orienteering, where you take map and compass and explore a lovely wilderness area? In our Team Orienteering you work in small teams, relying on each others’ new skills, searching for control points. It takes good strategy, communication, and a quick mastery of new skills to find the most efficient path to the final goal, a great metaphor for whatever business you are in!

When clients ask us what is the one thing they can do to improve their team’s performance, we often ask them how their teams are incentivized. If performance rewards are based on individual performance, the one thing they can do to quickly improve team performance is to change their reward structure from individual to team. Reward team performance and the outcome will be better team performance! #performance

Does your team function well but cannot seem to move into consistent high performance? It might be that they do not know one another outside of work. High performing teams know quite a lot about each others’ personal lives; names of spouses and kids, hobbies, etc. Taking the time to develop strong relationships is not just a nicety, it is a key ingredient to high performing teams.
