This casual restaurant, bar, and boat rental facility, located in the heart of Forest Park on Post-Dispatch Lake, is like no other place in St. Louis. In the warm weather enjoy leisurely boat rides, lakeside patio dining, cold drinks, live music, and beautiful sunsets. In the cold weather enjoy indoor dining for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch...or just come and enjoy a glass of wine or a hot chocolate while relaxing around the large stone wood-burning fireplace.

The atmosphere is awesome with a waterside dining experience that gives the feel of being on vacation. If you are looking for a relaxing and scenic spot for a lunch, dinner or cocktails it is well worth dropping by. They feature signature cocktails and fun trendy food. My favorite is the Mediterranean flatbread with side salad and is a great value at $10. Can't wait to plan my next visit!!!

I am back and forth on The Boathouse. Their menu changed for the worse in my opinion. It is a little limited. The atmosphere makes up for it a good bit though with the patio on the pond. The boat rentals are good for some afternoon fun but you have to make sure you arent too tired after a day of walking because the paddle boats will make you SORE!

Somehow a damaged boat was allowed to be placed on the front of the dock for usage. Unfortunately that was the boat that my family of four was given. Within about 5 minutes the boat was collecting water and the steering control broke. My family and I where terrified that we would be dumped into the lake. I'm not sure, but there appears to be no plan in place for emergency situations, as I was told when I called for help to find a stick (in the middle of the lake) & try to push our way back. Thankfully another patron on a paddle board was kind enough to guide us back to the dock. I would hate to think of what could have happened had this young man not been there. Management offered us another ticket for a future ride but we declined and received a refund. Please be advised that if you decide to rent a boat from here that it is as the signs state, at your own risk.

This place gets 4 stars. 1 for the food, 1 for the service, 1 for the view, and 1 for the DUCKS. If you sit outside in the spring or summer, you might be visited these feathered friends foraging for a few free french fries. Besides the DUCKS, there is a great view overlooking the pond, replete with boaters who are much more tame than the fabled Lake of the Ozarks boaters. Good service and good food round out this experience.

My mom and I went here before a Muny show and it was terrible. The hostess told us it would be 30 minutes of waiting outside and said they would come find us and call us when it was our turn. 45 minutes later with no hostess in sight, we ask and they lie to us and say they called us twice. There is no WAY they looked for us because we never saw anyone the entire 45 minutes we were on the patio. The food was mediocre at best, we got the crabcakes which seemed like they were pre-made, and the loaded fries which were standard. Then, my mom left her credit card there and when she came back the very next day, of course the staff has not seen the card. She closed out the card. We won't be back here.

You will not find a more unique restaurant in St. Louis! Feels like being on vacation-- right in the middle of the city. Great food, great prices, great staff! The property draws a nice combination of locals and tourists, and my dog loves it. I really like the new expansion of the outside patio which allows customers to order at the counter and seat themselves (an alternative to the full-service dining inside). Lobster nachos - yum!

Food over priced for what we got. They don't know how to seat people. Rude service and management couls care less when we talked to them. Not going here again.

Have not been back to the Board House for a year or two. When I arrived there was no line on a Sat. And again Sun. which I though was odd seeing it used to be packed. I saw the menu and have figured out the restaurant must be under new management or ownership. Pricey and food is not that good. Would not recommend.
