YO-YO STRESS BALL THERAPY
A powerful technique we developed for movement recovery was created not only for people with Parkinson's, but also those recoverying from stroke or injuries (e.g. military veterans). It is based on an original concept by Deb Helfrich (the Wellness Coach who helped me start Out-Thinking Parkinson's). Deb had the unique insight that a kind of stress ball (a squeezy, bouncy ball which fit the human hand well) and which comes (or can be modified to include) an attached elastic string and a velcro finger or wrist strap, could be hugely beneficial.

CANDIDA & PARKINSON'S
While I never knew there was any obvious link between the persistent cognitive dysfunction episodes and the fungal infection, I sat up and took notice when Glen Macpherson mentioned, in a comment on an seemingly unrelated group discussion in the Parkinson's Disease Fighters United (PDFU) Think Tank, that candida causes brain fog! So I've been following this train of thought, investigating links between fungal infections and Parkinson's Disease. Here is what I've unearthed so far.

Recommendations:for Policy on Parkinson's Disease

Understanding, addressing and interrupting the ingrained stress response of PD is clearly a priority area for any health care intervention. Mental health support such as counselling and cognitive behaviour therapy, anti-inflammatory nutritional regimes which avoid the body being startled into a high internal alert mode, and practicing stress interruption methods and techniques, such as those tried and tested in the Fajardo Method, must now be regarded as just as important, if not more so, as drug therapies. There is an urgent and serious requirement for these measures to be put in place, and applied as soon as possible to catch the problem in the earliest stage, in order to prevent Parkinson's Disease symptoms becoming increasingly and rapidly worse http://www.outthinkingparkinsons.com/articles/fight-flight-freeze
