This is currently up on Netflix (AU), 2 hours long, but amazing that a film 2+ years old has so closely yet unintentionally predicted the Trump machine. Go watch it...before the 4th reich begins.

Today whilst pulling some weeds, my watch buzzed and notified me that my power company has a special - buy 20kWh for $4 (~20c/kWh).

That's about 20% off normal retail, so I tapped 'buy' on my watch, a few seconds later it confirmed the purchase, and I resumed pulling weeds. My next few days of electricity are just that bit cheaper.

What a strange world we live in.

Ditch your halogen downlights, people.

This is a badly scorched chunk of glass wool insulation which had fallen over an MR16 downlight. It had originally been folded back off the ceiling gyprock to "comply" with AS3000 clearance requirements, but fell back on it.

I'm replacing all these hot fire hazards with IC rated LED downlights right now (and get to lay the folded insulation back down again!) Ah the joys of moving house.

I decided that Max's car needed a bit of a boost...dropped a new engine in it.

When the latest Australian online censorship laws passed, I had these t shirts made up. Snapped up quickly by colleagues!

The background is the logo of the government Attorney Generals Department who are attempting to control the internet.

The foreground is a nod to the Turkish people's reaction when their government attempted the same.
