YEP! At ELL we place happiness first and live the experience of living without money for some weeks.
Money vs Happiness

"People understand that it's important to pursue goals in their lives and they believe that attaining these goals will have positive consequences. This study shows that this isn't true for all goals," says author Edward Deci, professor of psychology and the Gowen Professor in the Social Sciences at the University.
. . . .
"Even though our culture puts a strong emphasis on attaining wealth and fame, pursuing these goals does not contribute to having a satisfying life. The things that make your life happy are growing as an individual, having loving relationships, and contributing to your community," Deci says.
. . .
The findings in this study support Self-Determination Theory, a well-established theory of human motivation developed by two of the paper's authors, Deci and fellow University psychologist Richard Ryan. The theory holds that well-being depends in large part on meeting one's basic psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness.
. .
Intrinsic aspirations make people happy because they fulfill these foundational needs, conclude the authors.

Emerging Leader Labs Applications OPEN for Summer Session 2014!
"Part education (except you don't pay tuition), part job (except you work for yourself), and part social enterprise incubator (except our focus is on "social impact" first and "enterprise" later), the Labs are designed to nourish our wild spirits and the crazy projects that just might make the difference we need [in the world.]"

The program is taking applications for two 2014 sessions. One in August/September in Chatham, NY and one in October/November in Asheville, NC.
Apply here:

I participated in the ELL summer session last year (2013).  It was a wonderful experience. I was introduced to many enlightening and inspirational ideas/people. I would expect this session to be just as valuable.... The program serves as an abundant learning resource for everyone involved, facilitators and participants alike.

The program's focus areas are:
Leadership: Learn to collaborate and work as a team as well as empower teams to fulfill projects and produce outrageous results.
Projects: Develop implementable projects that produce a positive impact on the local environment or community.
Service: Invest some time and energy in service projects in the local community that is supporting us.
Coaching: Throughout the program, each participant will have a coach to support them in their personal and project development.
Some complimentary resources for all those interested:

In support of young people Generation waking up is doing a great work. Take a look at the 'Thrive Fellows Program' which is very aligned to ELL.  We are actually looking into ways to support each other.

The Thrive Fellows program is a transformative “leadership-in-action” journey that supports a diverse cohort of young leaders in designing and implementing social innovation projects toward a thriving, just, and sustainable world.

Freespaces are radical! yey...our kind of space.

The [freespace] movement is an experiment in what is possible when a community shares the gift of physical space. A [freespace] is a gathering place for people to come together, to create, teach, learn, and share the things which they are truly passionate about, and strengthen connections between individuals as well as communities through art, events, and long term projects.

[freespace] began in June 2013, inspired by the National Day of Civic Hacking when a building was gifted to the community for just $1. The radically low barrier to entry and open door policy lead to a hugely diverse range of people from different cultural, economic, and professional backgrounds connecting and creating projects together such as a free bike share, maker classes for people in homeless shelters, and a community garden.

To date, [freespace] has hosted over 300 free events, seen more than 30 murals, fostered 4 long-term projects within San Francisco, and instigated an immeasurable amount of inspiration, collaboration, and solidarity within the communities it has touched.

[freespace] is now a global movement. Currently there are [freespaces] developing in 26 locations and 18 different countries around the world.
