Top tip for this activity is to break the chalk into small pieces ... If your child is still holding their writing tool with the whole hand or with an awkward grip; breaking the chalk into smaller pieces will encourage your child to hold the chalk using a three finger grasp ...

Emphasis is usually placed on the dominant hand for handwriting. The non dominant hand needs to work together with the dominant for a comfortable posture during handwriting.
