Hey guys! So as you know I've recently graduated with my educational studies/business economics degree and am working on completing the tests and licencing to become qualified to teach in the state of New Jersey. I'm sure you're also aware that a year or so ago I created Indie-Love.com and have been messing around with that. While my participation in that is limited these days, I'm looking to combine my interests and career into one big site.
Starting January 1st 2014 I am going to begin work on a new project that aims to teach teachers about everything from modern teaching techniques, technology, new breakthroughs in science, and also be a resource for free worksheets, lesson plans, and equipment. American teachers are fantastic, but often they have difficulty working with new equipment or keeping their classroom fresh.
I chose the name Secret Junto as a reference to the Ben Franklin club for mutual improvement. I think, as Franklin did, that education does not stop simply because you have left school, that it is a lifelong pursuit. Education done right can be amazingly fun and interesting and I hope Secret Junto can prove that. The Facebook Page and our Twitter (http://twitter.com/SecretJunto
) will be our face for a while, the plan is to scour the net finding the best articles for teachers. I hope to post at least one thing per day and it should be relevant to most people in case you're not a teacher and would like to add it to your feed anyway.
If anyone would like to help out it would be awesome of you and I'd really appreciate it For anyone looking to teach or who is already in education this is a great project, if you're someone who just thinks they have a lot of info they'd like to give to teachers that's cool too. Hit me up here and we'll talk Thanks guys (sorry for the length!)http://facebook.com/SecretJunto
