Wow. Just wow. The mod_spdy folks have done an amazing job with their Apache module for #spdy . It is trivial to run on an Ubuntu 12.04 machine.

Yesterday, we released mod_spdy, an open source Apache module for website owners to help make the web faster. This latest version makes it easy for web site owners to enable SPDY (pronounced "SPeeDY") protocol on their sites. SPDY is currently supported by Chrome, Firefox and Chrome on Android. Download, install and you're off and running. Read our blog post below for more info.

mod_spdy has launched!

mod_spdy is an Apache 2.2 module that adds support for the SPDY protocol, reducing page load times for webpages served over SSL for SPDY-enabled browsers (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Android). Those of you running Apache servers that serve pages over HTTPS may want to give this module a try.

Special thanks to all our early adopters who have helped us to find and fix issues.
