As part of the WA Government’s quest to promote higher density living throughout the state, new "Split Coding" regulations are set to be embraced by metro and regional councils that would open the door for neighbours to merge their lots when selling which could dramatically increase value of their properties.

Metro and regional WA councils are introducing new “split coding” regulations, which will allow higher density when neighbours amalgamate their lots to sell their properties.

What do you think of these changes? Will it encourage you to buy in these suburbs?

There are many benefits of sub-division, it can be an excellent way to build and sell your second unit for a profit. Or if a passive income is your aim, you could rent out the second unit and add to your savings.

It's also a great way to accommodate family members, for instance your parents or even your adult children can live right in your backyard.

Thinking of building a rear or front strata on your block?

Most house plans are designed to suit street front green title lots, and rarely do they comply with policies applicable to rear lot/strata developments.

Choosing a plan that has been specifically designed to sit on a rear or front strata block is extremely important as there are certain design codes that will apply to the property and these have already been taken into consideration. This will help you save lots of time, money and headaches down the track!
