For anyone interested in President ‪Obama‬'s 2017 Fiscal Budget, the download link can be found below.

For those who don't want to read the 165 page PDF (I don't blame you!), the most interesting proposals are:

The $10.25 tax on every barrel of oil imported or domestically produced.
The one-time 14% tax on previously untaxed foreign income (aimed at corporations like ‪Apple‬ that have participated in tax inversions)
The increase of capital gains rates up to 24.2% (up to 28% including 3.8% the Net Investment Income Tax)
Ending the "stepped-Up" Basis rules for inherited property (Ouch!)
Increase the Code Section 179 expensing limit to $1mm (Finally, something Pro-taxpayer!)

The IRS opened its system to E-File yesterday, January 19th. Happy Refund Season!

Here are the dates you need to know:

April 18 will be 2016 tax deadline for most individual taxpayers. Because Emancipation Day (a legal holiday in the District of Columbia) falls on Saturday, April 16, in 2016, it will be observed on Friday, April 15, which pushes the tax filing deadline to the next business day – Monday, Apr. 18, 2016.

However, because Patriot's Day will be observed this year on Monday, Apr. 18, 2016 in Maine and Massachusetts, residents of those states will have until Apr. 19, 2016 to file and pay their taxes.
