Great downtown restaurant that excels in having one of the best bar-side happy hour menus and prices. From the $1 oysters to the fantastic specialty pizzas you can't go wrong at Bricco.

This Review is for CIAO Bakery. I found this gem, when I started working on Market street about 5 years ago. They always have the best pastries and desserts. My favorites are the raspberry cheese filled danishes and the butter bar. Also the sandwiches which have fresh ingredients are wonderful, my favorite is the Chestnut St. and my co-workers love the BLT with the fried tomatoes. Last summer the staff created a beautiful and equally moist and delicious graduation cake for my daughter. It was a chef's coat with a knife on top, it could have won any competition easily. I also have to say I love the ladies that work there as well, always friendly and helpful. Suzie, Lizzie, Timi and Casey they are a great team.

My wife and I dined here recently. We had the following: risotto special for an appetizer, Calabrian braised short ribs and Sage pappardelle - duck ragout for entrees, and the German Chocolate Cake and the Mini Plate for Two for dessert. Everything was outstanding. We also had wine with the meal and the wait staff went out of there way to ensure our selection not only fit our tastes, but was paires well with the food. I was particularly happy with their take on the German chocolate cake dessert. It was phenomenal and unexpected in presentation and taste. We will definitely return to try their other menu selections when we are back in the area.

Excellent food, terrific atmosphere. I would highly recommend Bricco to anyone looking for a great meal in Harrisburg. The beef tenderloin was wonderful.

They think a lot of themselves, make no mistake. I wanted to dock them more points for being overpriced and pretentious, and there's truly no bargains here. But the food really is quite good - good ideas and well executed. If you're looking for an excuse to spend NYC money in Harrisburg, and have an excellent meal in for the deal, this is the place. However the $4 up-charge for gluten free bread or pizza is inexcusable - that cost you a star. I wasn't thrilled when Trip Advisor said it was $2; to find it was actually $4 was galling. I might excuse a couple bucks at a less "fine" establishment; here it just comes off as being small.
