So who wants to learn how to do this?
Our collective community here on G+ has given me so much and allowed me to share so much of my life and what I care about. It's time to kick that up a notch.
I will be hosting and videotaping a series of "G+ Photo Tutorials and Processing Sessions" via Taped hangouts starting on Saturday, Feb 4th at 10pm EST.
First in the series will be a start to finish tutorial showing and explaining how I created this (still work in progress) "portrait of a Red-Knobbed Hornbill giving me her best come hither look" commissioned by the wife of a wonderful and generous Art Collector in Belgium as a birthday gift to him. These are the same techniques I use for all my "Finer feathered Friends" series for the Ritz Carlton Hotels (with just a few secrets withheld for some future time)
This particular session will focus on Photoshop Processing and we'll talk about working with textures, layers, blending modes, masking techniques and along the way, talk a little about the overall creative process. I will answer any questions along the way and hopefully have a co-host to help facilitate a chatroom and keep the session fun and informative. My goal is for you all to be able to walk away with a few new skills, tips and tricks for creating layered images with your own work.
Future sessions will cover some of my various color and monochrome processing techniques, and a few sessions on my approach to shooting and processing portraits among other things.
Need to work through some details hence the early warning. I would love to get an idea how many people will be interested in the live session so i don't break Google or something. And I do plan on recording it and posting it here and/or Youtube for anyone not able to make the session. I will also be reposting this as we get closer with any new news.
Here's hoping we all learn and grow and stay inspired.
It's what makes this place so amazing for me and I want everyone to feel the same way.
