Dec. 1st
Luke 1:26-27
"In the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David."
...God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth to a young girl named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph.

Dec. 2nd
Luke 1:30
"'Don't be afraid, Mary,' the angel told her, 'for you have found favor with God!'"
The angel Gabriel said to Mary "Don't be afraid, you have found favor with God!"

Dec. 3rd
Luke 1:31 
"You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus."
The angel Gabriel told Mary that she would become pregnant with a baby boy, and to name him Jesus.

Dec. 4th
Luke 1:31
"He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David."
The Angel told Mary, "Your Son will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High (God)."

Dec. 5th
Luke 1:38
Mary responded, "I am the Lord's servant. May everything you have said about me come true." And then the angel left her.
Mary told the Angel Gabriel "I am the Lord's servant. May everything you have said about me come true." And then the Angel Gabriel left Mary.

Dec. 6th
Luke: 2:1
At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire.
Augustus was the ruler at the time, and sent out a rule that everyone must be taxed.

Dec. 7th
Luke 2:3
All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census.
Everyone returned to the city they were born in to be taxed.

Dec. 8th
Luke 2:4-5
And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David's ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, his fiancee, who was now obviously pregnant. 
Joseph and Mary traveled from Nazareth to Bethlehem to be taxed. Mary was very pregnant with baby Jesus at this time.

Dec. 9th
Luke 2:6-7
And while they were there, the time came for the baby to be born. She gave birth to her first child, a son...
Once Joseph and Mary were in Bethlehem, it was time for Jesus to be born.

Dec. 10th
Luke 2:7
...She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.
Because everyone traveled home to be taxed, there were no more rooms available for rent. So Jesus was born in a stable, he was wrapped in strips of cloth and slept in a manger.

Dec. 11th
Luke 2:8
That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep.
On the same same night Jesus was born, there were shepherds watching their sheep in a feild nearby.

Dec. 12th
Luke 2:9
Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord's glory surrounded them. They were terrified,
Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds, and they were very afraid."

Dec. 13th
Luke 2:10
But the angel reassured them. "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 
The angel told the shepherds "Don't be afraid! I bring you good news that will bring great joy to everyone!"

Dec. 14th
Luke 2:11
The Savior-yes, the Messiah, the Lord-has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
The angel told the shepherds, "The Savior, the Messiah, the Lord, has been born today in Bethlehem!"

Dec. 15th
Luke 2:12
And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.
The angel told the shepherds that they would find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth laying in a manger. 

Dec. 16th
Luke 2:13-14
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others-the armies of heaven-praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased."
Suddenly there were many angels in front of the shepherds. The angels were praising God and saying, "Glory to God in heaven, and peace on earth."

They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby lying in the manger.
So the shepherds hurried off and found Mary, Joseph and the baby, who was lying in the manger.

Come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation, Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking,
At the time Jesus was born, Herod was king over Bethlehem. There were 3 wise men from eastern lands who were searching for the new born king, Jesus.

Dec. 20th
Matthew 2:2
"Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have to come to worship him."
The 3 wise men who were looking for baby Jesus went to King Herod and asked, "Where is the new born king? We have seen his star in the east and we have come to worship him."

Dec. 21st
Matthew 2:11a
They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.
The 3 wise men continued to search of Jesus. When they found him, they came into his house and saw Jesus with his mother Mary, and bowed down and worshiped him.

Dec. 22nd
Matthew 2:11b
Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
The 3 wise men brought gifts for Jesus. They opened their treasure chest and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Dec. 23rd
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world so much that he gave his one and only son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."

Dec. 24th
2 Corinthians 9:15-16
