I might love #Hannibal (the show that is) way too much! Haha

I wish I'd known about it sooner, but to binge it sure brings me delight now. 😀

Mourning the talented Chris Cornell. 😢 Another great loss, at too young an age.

Does anyone know what this plant is?

It was given to me last year and I was told it would have flowers, but the gifter didn't know which plant he'd given me. He thought it might produce purple & yellow flowers. These are maroonish buds with cute cream colored star shaped tops. When I received the plant in September it had just a few leaves, then the long 'extension stem' (I dunno what it should be called). It came a few months later or a few months ago. At first that long stem grew upward and curled around the jute hanger. I unraveled it, then it went up again so I unraveled it again and it has grown outward ever since. (It would have run out of room and gone into the ceiling. The other plant he gave me has a similar stem, though it hasn't produced anything on it, except for more leaves.)

Early last month (I think) the little stem from which these flowers grow came. I went away for a week and returned to the flowers. The flowers dried up in a day and fell off a couple of days later. A few weeks ago, from that same stem, some little ball-like things came out. So I went away for 5 days and returned home tonight to these flowers again. 😀 So cute! This time while photographing, I noticed a smell.... Delicious!! 😀 It smells like fresh ginger, like the little slices you get with food sometimes it sushi (i.e., not the scent of powdered ginger). Each time the flowers come out, there's clear fluid on each, until it dries up. (I tried to capture it in the photos but my phone camera kept not focusing and I'm too tired to bring out a real camera). I didn't notice the scent with the first set of flowers, but who knows, maybe it was there then too. Way cool! 😃 I wish I knew what it was though. Just to know, but also to research whether I can drink that. I used to love sucking on honeysuckle.

Anyway, if you know, please let me know. 😃

For now I'll call it Ginger Fireworks.😊
