What I do... Synthesis of bioactive small molecules that affect cell migration, and characterization of the molecular targets of these compounds. Investigation of the molecular mechanism of action of antimigratory compounds and protein-small molecule interactions. Biochemical and cellular analyses of signaling pathways and function of specific proteins involved in cell motility, and derive the underlying mechanism of how groups of cells collectively generate force to drive movement of cell sheets.
