I've never seen this interview. I knew about the book. This woman contradicts herself so many times I stopped counting. Terse and not candid or genuine...not a good interview. A strange woman. I will say this...if MY mother were a famous woman I could have written a book that WOULD immediately defame her (I would never have done that during her lifetime; issues). Bette Davis comes nowhere close to being a horrible mother. Nowhere close. 1961 > My mother stole me away with my four siblings in the middle of the night, from our own beds, and put us on a bus. We ended up in Florida. Traumatizing an entire school of children and teachers who never knew what happened to us. Neither did our father. After my mother took us away from our home, she took us from town to town for years. But in the end, she sent us back to our father (4 years later) and she disappeared entirely for another 7 years. She came back into our lives with no explanation whatsoever and acted like we hadn't even suffered or missed her. All 5 of us have endured and made our ways in life, but it's defined us...and again, I say...my book would slam dunk my famous mother, if she were just that thing. Bette Davis is my favorite all time movie actress and will remain so.
