Have you heard of consuming local honey for allergies? Here's what you need to know before selecting a honey to address pollen allergies.

A great list for our upcoming trip in the summer! I'm just surprised that Sighisoara (and Timisoara for that matter) didn't make the list!

No. 8 is in my hometown :-)

As one of the most beautiful countries in Eastern Europe, Romania attracts millions of tourists each year with its scenic landscapes, unique culture and historically significant landmarks. Whether you’re looking for soaring mountains to climb, warm waters to bathe in, forests to explore or plains to run across, Romania has it all. Furthermore, since this [...]

I think many tourists are attracted to the Old Country because of its ancient architecture that has been preciously conserved.
While in North America, it's become a public spectacle to dynamite old buildings. What price afluenza?

Unreal.

Cholera in Haiti.

" . . . Ban Ki Moon, the UN's secretary-general, reiterated that the UN’s legal office has decided the claims are “not receivable” because of the UN’s privileges and immunities. "

UN behaving with disregard and impunity.  .  Absolutely disgraceful !
ON JULY 5th the United Nations refused, again, to countenance the claims of 5,000 cholera-affected Haitians against it. The Haitians contend that grossly inadequate...

After years of techies and start ups flocking to Silicon Valley, now they are flocking away, for better pay and more affordable places to live.

A Manual Scroll

My gosh, I spent two minutes trying to find out what a Yoctometer was, then returned to this wondrous journey which was made more hypnotic by the four-chord angelic music.
Thanks!

In a store spending some relaxing browsing time after dinner.... Couldn't help but tell everyone: it's 'Buy Nothing Day'.

I spent $ 0 yesterday; stayed at home and caught up on paperwork and other odds-and-ends.  The only reason I'm going out to-day to the store is to purchase my monthly transit pass . . . of course, I'm sure to find something else :=)

I was waiting for +Oksana Szulhan to post something about this :-P But can't wait any longer :-D

Wow....curious to see what the outcome will be....if any.
The Canadian Federal Court confirms that the country’s 2011 federal election was fraudulent.

I did post something a couple of days ago +Zsoka Scurtescu - http://thetyee.ca/Blogs/TheHook/2013/05/24/RobocallResults/?utm_source=daily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=250513.

This is mind-boggling :

" Fraud was definitely a factor in the rash of misleading robocalls that bedevilled voters in six federal ridings in the 2011 election, but not enough of one to justify overturning the results, a Federal Court judge has decided. "

There were two articles within the last week that came to my world in the topic of breast health. Read the articles if you are interested.....These articles tend to be long, so check the 'Story at-a-glance' column on the top right and decide for yourself if it is worth your time:

Yes; I'm curious why ads " Three Simple Stragegies to Optimize your Pet's Health " would be prominent on such a health site - not to mention the rest of the BS ads.  Just wondering :=(

So we discovered an Ethiopian Restaurant in San Jose that is very delicious, and they have Gluten Free bread (what they call 'injera', a yeast-risen flatbread with a unique, slightly spongy texture). (Their dishes are gluten free, it's just the bread is iffy at other places) They recommended to call ahead and double check that they have the GF bread that day - we did that, and they confirmed they did (was a Thursday night), and when we arrived they already knew we needed to be GF. They even take reservations, which is a nice surprise in the Bay Area.

Service at Walia was really good, decor is OK, noise level is usual. Our kids loved the food, there was one item only out of what we ordered that was a bit spicy, but they still ate it (our kids tolerate some spicy food). The server was very helpful in choosing the right type of dishes that worked really well for us. 5 of us went, and we paid $86 (with tip), we had an appetizer and a glass of wine, and enough food that we all felt VERY well fed (should have eaten a bit less :-)

There is another Ethiopian restaurant with gf injera. I am interviewing Rehoboth in downtown San Jose later this week for my blog. They have two different gf types, one with Teff flour and the other is a gf flour blend.

Dr. Shapiro was the best thing that happened to my family medically. She is a wonderful person with a vast knowledge of Western Medicine, but open to alternative modalities (like homeopathy, herbalism, Chinese Medicine). She will treat you as a whole person, not just your symptoms. I recommend her to all my friends and family.

I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Shaw (totally by chance). I have been treated for various issues over the years by different chiropractors, but she is the first one who could not only overcome my issue fast, but keeps me in a good shape on an ongoing basis. I love the fact that she is not doing any 'cracking', yet getting better results faster than the more traditional chiropractics. I keep recommending her to my friends, that's how strongly I feel about her expertise.
