So we discovered an Ethiopian Restaurant in San Jose that is very delicious, and they have Gluten Free bread (what they call 'injera', a yeast-risen flatbread with a unique, slightly spongy texture). (Their dishes are gluten free, it's just the bread is iffy at other places) They recommended to call ahead and double check that they have the GF bread that day - we did that, and they confirmed they did (was a Thursday night), and when we arrived they already knew we needed to be GF. They even take reservations, which is a nice surprise in the Bay Area.
Service at Walia was really good, decor is OK, noise level is usual. Our kids loved the food, there was one item only out of what we ordered that was a bit spicy, but they still ate it (our kids tolerate some spicy food). The server was very helpful in choosing the right type of dishes that worked really well for us. 5 of us went, and we paid $86 (with tip), we had an appetizer and a glass of wine, and enough food that we all felt VERY well fed (should have eaten a bit less :-)
