Gates Jail

"On April 29th, 1975, at the age of 19, Bill Gates (founder of Microsoft) was arrested by the Albuquerque Police department (arrest record #52090). The charges were speeding and driving without a license. It was the first of three arrests in the late seventies by Albuquerque Police." (Source: distant.ca/UselessFacts)

wake turbulence from A380 send Challenger into tailspin
A Canadair Challenger 604, operated by MHS aviation, passed the A380 in opposite direction only a 1000 ft below. The Challenger pilots lost control of the plane.

The plane must have been on autopilot and pilots sleeping , but the aircraft rolled and flipped at least 3 times experiencing huge G forces. Both engines flamed out and power was lost. The plane dropped 10,000 ft. The Ram Air Turbine, an emergency turbine used to produce electricity that drops by gravity, could not deploy. The crew was able to recover the aircraft exercising raw muscle force, restarted the engines and diverted to Muscat.

The new tendency is to stack more and more planes vertically and horizontally. To reduce spacing on landing to increase the number of planes landing per hour. Money money money! Companies use the excuse that modern technology allows precise localization to reduce spacing and forget wake disturbance. Vertical separation was 2000 ft but modern planes with fancy glass cockpit and modern autopilot will use a 1000 ft vertical separation.

This is obviously not enough for a small plane passing an A380.

Star Trails
Sky was clear this weekend. My sky is highly light polluted. Electricity is cheap and Quebecers waste Terawatts in house lights, and inefficient public lighting. Soon we will be unable to see the sky in large cities.

Fed up with the BS
Some people are only interested in making money with their youtube, BS "conferences", and TV shows "revelations" on UFOs. They have polluted the field with their crap and buried the real info in tons of crap.

Below a photoshopped photo circulating on the web showing the "Secret BS NASA SL10 flying saucer". Check the shadows. Some people believe that crap and think that NASA has secret flying saucers. DOH

Right the Real picture of HL-10 test bed with Bill Dana smiling at us.

Ugly D8 Double Bubble
Another nightmare born from research in greener, more economical and silent planes.

Boundary Layer Ingestion aka BLI meana laminar slow flow close to body is ingested by engines at the back and accelerated to reduce drag (and sound)

It sounds like a cause of heart burn. Instead, Boundary Layer Ingestion is a promising idea we're studying to reduce fuel consumption, reducing emissions and the cost of operating the aircraft. Learn more: http://go.nasa.gov/2mSM4eo
