This is a photo of a white high quality Stenoboard 1.1. The design is not final, but I think that it will be finished with a couple more minor tweaks.

Don't forget to check out the new kits at http://utopen.com/stenoboard-kits/21-stenoboard-11-kit.html with 10% discount on optionals till Monday July 21th, so there are less than 46 hours remaing!!

In this photo, you can clearly see the top layers of the keys. Please note that lower layers are 0.3 mm high, while the ones you can see on the cylindrical surface of the keys are 0.15 mm high, that is less than 1/100th of an inch! This is true also for Stenoboard 1.0, but with white plastics this is more visible.

Let me know what you think, I hope you like it!

Hi Ty, I am so glad that you like your Stenoboard! How is it going after another month of typing?
What a great keyboard.  The kit took me 45 minutes to put together.  I ordered the version that has the boards pre-built, although now that I've seen it, I believe the soldering would have been doable.  I don't know what key switches this board uses, but they are very sensitive.  With the weight of the keys, they are just sensitive enough that I don't need much pressure, but not so sensitive that my fingers accidentally misfire.

I've been using a Stentura, and my Microsoft Sidewinder with Plover. This keyboard has a different feel than either of those. I'm relearning where my fingers fall, but that's happening quickly and given my limited experience with steno, not unexpected.  To aid this, I've put a couple small felt markers on a couple keys, so that I can tell where my hands are. This seems to help.  Writing on this is a joy.

All in all, this keyboard is worth the time and money. I'd recommend it.

Ty
