What is this? It looks like a monster!  If you guessed Dog Sweater, you're right! Mullet Ski Mask would be...incorrect...and weird. ;-) My sister asked me to make it for her little pup who can't keep warm in the snow and cold...

January is a big Birthday Month around here! Three birthdays to celebrate, and I haven't even taken the time to blog about them.  Tom turned 19, and celebrated the actual day at The Institute.  A few days later, Pippo turned...

This is the Yarn Along version of a #Latergram, as in I finished the socks in time for Christmas and the book last week. But I wanted to share both of them, so here they are! The socks are Sweet Georgia sock yarn which I really like----soft and sturdy. The ...

My Favorite Podcasts
Beverley asked in the last post what my favorite podcasts are, so I thought the answer was worthy of a blog post. I'm somewhat outgoing and extraverted, and I like companionship during my days! I find that I'm much more likely to get housecleaning or projec...

One of my favorite children's books is now a Book Blankey! In spite of the crazy colors and questionable decor ;-), it makes an adorable blanket to cozy up with! http://ashowerofroses.blogspot.com/2015/03/goodnight-moon-blanket.html

How do you keep cozy while working or schooling? We found a way!
Monday school-time. It's Monday, as if that weren't enough, and it's cold. No one wants to work and everyone wants to snuggle. So we're doing schoolwork the Japanese way. We have a little heater under the table, and we a...

Catholic, homeschooling mother of 6
Introduction
I am the wife of a wonderful man who brought me into the Catholic Church through prayer and gentle perseverance, and who puts up with a lot of crazy mood swings. We have 6 beautiful children, though it seems odd to say "children" when half of them are grown, and two of them are living on their own! I'm in my 19th year of homeschooling, but I have only 2 students left at home, and they have begun attending a hybrid-homeschool 2-3 days per week. I am a slightly obsessed knitter who has several projects on needles at any given time, and many more on the "wish list". I enjoy creating beauty, whether through knitting, cooking, painting, or sewing. I'm enjoying my 2 days "off" each week, while I struggle with the reality of a nest that's getting emptier and emptier. Together with my family, we're trying to figure out how live In The World but not be Of The World.
