Looking forward to Easter, and a new resolution!
Recently, I had the occasion to read a beautiful quotation from Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Christ came to be Father’s compassion to the world. Be kind in your actions. Do not think that you are the only one who can ...

Not Quite Weekly Rambles!
::Weekly Rambles:: What’s really on my mind and heart? This past weekend I was on a leadership retreat with our Pioneer and Patriots girls from AHG. I was one of the presenters, and I may have gotten more out of the retreat than they did! It was so fun to b...

One of my favorite children's books is now a Book Blankey! In spite of the crazy colors and questionable decor ;-), it makes an adorable blanket to cozy up with! http://ashowerofroses.blogspot.com/2015/03/goodnight-moon-blanket.html

An Easter Gift
Happy Easter! We slept late after our Easter Vigil and 11:30 p.m. Krispy Kreme run. :-) Lunch was not a spectacular affair with 5 of the 6 kids here, and everyone helped, so it was lovely, low-key, and just enough. While waiting for the ham to cook, we play...

What is this? It looks like a monster!  If you guessed Dog Sweater, you're right! Mullet Ski Mask would be...incorrect...and weird. ;-) My sister asked me to make it for her little pup who can't keep warm in the snow and cold...

January is a big Birthday Month around here! Three birthdays to celebrate, and I haven't even taken the time to blog about them.  Tom turned 19, and celebrated the actual day at The Institute.  A few days later, Pippo turned...

Catholic, homeschooling mother of 6
Introduction
I am the wife of a wonderful man who brought me into the Catholic Church through prayer and gentle perseverance, and who puts up with a lot of crazy mood swings. We have 6 beautiful children, though it seems odd to say "children" when half of them are grown, and two of them are living on their own! I'm in my 19th year of homeschooling, but I have only 2 students left at home, and they have begun attending a hybrid-homeschool 2-3 days per week. I am a slightly obsessed knitter who has several projects on needles at any given time, and many more on the "wish list". I enjoy creating beauty, whether through knitting, cooking, painting, or sewing. I'm enjoying my 2 days "off" each week, while I struggle with the reality of a nest that's getting emptier and emptier. Together with my family, we're trying to figure out how live In The World but not be Of The World.
