Latest News: Astronomers have found an unlikely object in an improbable place: a monster black hole lurking inside one of the tiniest galaxies known. The dwarf galaxy containing the black hole, as illustrated in this artist's concept, is the densest galaxy ever seen, cramming 140 million stars within a diameter of about 300 light-years (just 1/500th of our Milky Way galaxy's diameter). However, the black hole inside the galaxy is five times the mass of the black hole at the center of our Milky Way. This suggests that the dwarf galaxy may actually be the stripped remnant of a larger galaxy that was torn apart during a close encounter with a more massive galaxy. The finding implies that there are many other compact galaxies in the universe that contain supermassive black holes. http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/archive/releases/2014/41

Samsung will give you $200 if you trade your old phone for the Note 4, even if it’s worth less

Post by +Andrew Grush
Those that pre-order a Note 4 between 9/18 and 10/16 will be eligible to receive $200 trade-in credit for their existing phone, even if it’s worth less than that.

Dell outs 'world's first' 5K display with a massive 5,120 x 2,880 resolution
4K is so last week. Most of us haven't added one of those displays as part of our daily workflow yet, and Dell's 5K option is on the way. The UltraSharp

New wallpaper.

That's the 5 MB version below but there's a 342 MB jpeg version available here;
http://www.noao.edu/image_gallery/html/im1259.html

"  This image was created with data from the Local Group Survey, completed with the Mosaic camera on the Mayall 4-meter telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory. M31, M33 and our Milky Way are the three largest members of the Local Group of galaxies. M31 is a spiral galaxy very similar in size and mass to our own. Ten 'pointings' of the camera along the galaxy in five filters were used to make the image. You could line seven full moons across the image. The image was generated with observations with the U (violet), B (blue), V (cyan), I (orange) and H-alpha (red) filters. The five filters show the star colors and HII star forming regions in vivid detail. About 600 million pixels in size, it is the largest and most detailed image of M31 ever completed that covers the entire galaxy. This image is rotated CW 127 degrees from North is up, East to the left.  "

We were staying at The Joule and wanted a solid dinner without having to pull the car from valet or rely upon the hotel's A8 for a return trip so we tried CBD. What an excellent restaurant! Great service, wonderful menu, etc. Our only complaint would be that the music was way too loud, it made it difficult to enjoy the meal and maintain small talk. The food was so good that we returned for breakfast the following morning before checking out. The omelet and grits are amazing!
