Watch out for the Crazed Carrot Nazis! I took the family here today on our way home from Cedar Point and was very dissatisfied. We had picked up some carrots to feed the animals before we went there. Bad idea! Once we started the drive through "safari" we were swarmed by angry people on golf karts asking "where did you get those carrots!" "Where is your blue tag!" "Those carrots are not allowed!" "GIVE US YOUR CARROTS!!!" We were treated like criminals. We were then stopped and informed that you are only allowed to use their carrots that are $5 a pound. We paid over $50 to get in here. Is it that bad that we had brought our own food for the animals?" One of these crazed mall cop wanna-be's on a power trip actually reached into my vehicle and removed 3 bags of carrots my son had next to him. If it were a man that had done this I would have exited my vehicle and done something about it. My son cried the rest of the way through. What kind of a place trains their employees to act like this? Yeah, there are signs that say not outside food but that is no excuse to act the way they do. That is literally somebody's job. To race around and confiscate "illegal" carrots. I will never come back to this place. The animals do not make up for the horrible attitude of their employees. If you do go and decide to bring your own food, hide it! Buy one bag of their "approved carrots" and get one of their blue tags then just use your own food.

Mu husband and I have an annual membership for our kiddos. We find the place to be nice, however the service is slow. The enterance during the weekend is horrible for members vs. non-members, and when you ask questions most of the people don't know anything. We have had a few bad experiances.

I have taken my kids to this park twice. Once last year and then today. Last year everyone enjoyed themselves. However, today I was very disappointed with the care of the animals. Several of the animals' fur was very matted. Only the kind of matting that occurs over months of neglect by the staff! The flies were swarming all of the animals. With the prices they charge I am sure they could afford fly spray so the animals do not have to suffer. There is not enough shade for the amount of animals that are on the grounds. So they are all stepping all over each other in order to try and get shade. There is NO fresh water sources for the animals to drink from. Only these few small ponds where the manure runs off into. On top of all of it, one of the deer was limping pretty severely and when I mentioned it to a "Ranger" I was told that the animal's hoof was probably ran over by a car. The staff member acted as this was no big deal and happens frequently. When we went to the food stand to purchase drinks there were flies everywhere! The staff needs to clean up their act. Or this place needs to shut down and the animals need to go to real zoos, where they can be properly cared for!!!!!!!

We visited this weekend, it was an overall good experience, there are lot of animals to see and they really come up close (sometimes too close). be prepared to have some animal heads inside your car. kids love it. Tips: 1. They give you one cup free food (some kind of animal food pelts) to feed the animals and you can also buy extra food pelts or Carrots, the free food is use less since the animals only like carrots, so i would suggest buy carrots lots of them. the animals literally walk away if they do not see a carrot in your hand, they don't care about the other pellet food and wont even come close to your car. 2. Save carrots for the end, people tend to finish up all the animal food at the beginning and then just drive by at the end, but the real fun is at the end, where they have huge giraffes and zebras which literally put their head over the fens into your moon roof if you have carrots..:) 3. The animal food they sell is expensive, specially the carrots, so i would Suggest get some of your own to save on money, get those regular long ones you find at like Walmart. 4. When you enter the park, you will generally find a huge line of cars waiting to get entry tickets, but don't get into the line there, drive around them and go to the booth ahead, people generally think that there is only one booth but and instead of having it side by side, they have one boot at the front and the other at the back. you will save a lot of time.

I loved this place! It totally made me feel like a kid again. We arrived fairly early on a Friday morning. There's nothing like driving through a park having your car greeted by deer and buffalo munching carrots. You need to bring your camera there is so much to enjoy and take pictures of. My young children enjoyed riding on the camel. The playground was an enjoyable, relaxing way to pass some time. My favorite animals are the gibbon monkeys on the island outside the gift shop. We just sat on the deck area for a while and enjoyed them interacting with each other. They were very funny to watch. The food was good. We had some hamburgers and hot dogs and the Ice cream was so yummy.
