The other thing I have been modifying...

When I first started reading, I misinterpreted a complaint about the drive-shaft breaking as a chassis plate problem. So I decided to mill one from aluminum.

By the time I realized I was looking at the wrong part, it was too late. Heck it's metal, push forward anyway!

A little rough if you look at the details (first attempt) but I have a finished product.

The front has two extra holes for a bumper mount.

As a Feedly user, I would like an undo button in case I accidentally mark everything as "read". Even with the confirmation notice, I may find I marked all as read at the wrong scope.

Made some progress yesterday. This is a mounting plate for a 3-axis camera gimbal. I modeled out the geometry with the intention of integrating it with the top deck plate. The red 3d print is a test to verify my accuracy.

Mini-project first round complete. I found a model online that increases pupilary distance (thx Wikipedia!) with mirrors. I tweaked the model to accommodate some mirrors I found laying around the Dallas Makerspace and 3D printed. Prototype #1 behold!

You can see that even after banging with a rubber mallet, I cannot get the two halves to fully meet. I will start editing another prototype to smooth out the various kinks and rough edges.

"What does it do?" you may ask, or at least that is the question I was posed 20 times yesterday. By increasing the distance between your eyeballs, it messes with your perspective a bit. Things close will appear closer, things far will appear further. And it helps you not have to cross your eyes so much when looking at stereographic photos.

Keeps me off the streets I guess...
