This is a Surface RT, Microsoft says that’s really all you need in one device so we’re going to show it to some real people. What do you guys use your computers for? … Photoshop, Illustrator, … Seen one of these before? RT. Microsoft says this is everything that you need. Doesn’t run Photoshop. Doesn’t run Illustrator.

Hmmm.  That was the Asus T100 in the video, not the SurfaceRT. And yes, the Asus T100 will run Photoshop.

But even beyond that, seeing as Microsoft never, ever stated that SurfaceRT was everything you needed in a computer (hence the reason the Surface Pro line was introduced on the same stage/day as the SurfaceRT), I don't see the point of your statement, Paul, other than to fanboy troll the internet; as if the internet does not already have more than enough of that, dragging it down.  You are just angrily putting words into peoples' mouths - words that no one ever said.  As Microsoft never said that SurfaceRT was all you needed in a computer.

Irony is, as an owner of both a Chromebook (an Acer 13) and a SurfaceRT, the SurfaceRT actually does more than the Chromebook - no BS.  And while I do actually love both devices for each does well, at the end of the day my Acer Chromebook collects dust, while I've doubled down on my SurfaceRT investment, by picking up a Surface 2.  Which like it's predecessor, has easily become my daily driver.

You know, if more people, instead of slagging off against the product on the other side of the fence, took the time to actually try them out and give them a fair shake, the world would be full of a lot fewer, half informed fanboys, and full of more people not out perpetuating FUD and misinformation about things they have zero clue about.

Hours of sanding off the original finish, this will take me weeks it seems. Looks nice underneath though.

nexus 4 (mako) beta-developer build
guys, help testing googles new dead lock fixes:
http://goo.im/devs/paranoidandroid/roms/mako/dev

this build includes new google aosp/master-branch bugfixes that specifically adress dead-lock. i just want to know if that fixes the freeze-ups that plague JSS15J.

started a new topic for that as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399089
if you are a developer and can produce either aosp or rom builds and you are willing to help, please do so.

This might just replace C# for me as my favorite language. I want this in all browsers, on ChromeOS and hopefully Android one shiny day.

ars technica and +Ron Amadeo  have successfully convinced people that android is "closed source" and that google has stopped updating new apps, therefore the kitkat launcher is supposedly not part of the aosp.

like, really?

Lol. You didn't answer anything gently at all. You cussed everyone out and specifically called me out after I never even addressed you. I was talking to someone else in your thread.

Grow up man. All the account you keep creating and spamming our community with is really immature. Just accept the fact that you raged out on everyone, got banned and move on.

Nexus 4 users: pa_mako-3.96-20130810.zip
http://goo.im/devs/paranoidandroid/roms/mako/dev/pa_mako-3.96-20130810.zip

This is the last dev build for now. I will release this tomorrow or the day after with a couple of new HALO upgrades we have done.

3.96-20130810 is essentially JWR, but with JSS additions. it should hopefully end freeze-gate. its kernel is JWR, you can flash frankos official over thisor any other JWR kernel. flash this only if you want to help evaluating.

i think im going to make a release for mako today, mostly everything works but it has one bad flaw

they changed the filesystem, pa prefs currently has no way to write to properties.conf. meaning, hybrid engine is OK, but paprefs can't control it.
since root is fucked too you'll be dealing with koushs beta builds for now if you need it.

tom has created full 4.3 gapps, but his last test had some kinks, i wait for a new version and upload a preview build later this day.

this is JSS15J

oh yeah, before i forget it. we had to remove theming engine and privacy guard. theming engine - i don't even know if it will come back, its such a messy thing and creates a lot of trouble. we will probably write our own at some point.
privacy guard is obsolete, we can tinker with googles app ops and make it more usable, expose it in the system settings.

again, this all sounds strange considering that google was like "oh, here's 4.3, just added bluetooth support" when in fact this was the biggest update since 4.0.

he he , Thanks +Paranoid Android  . To be frank Paranoid android provides better support than Google for N4. Infact I'm suggesting people who are facing issues with N4 to try out PA at Google Support Forums just for this reason !
