Here is one of my latest projects. I was contacted by a woman who is going to the Emmy's this month with her husband who was nominated for an award. But the dress she ordered was a bit overwhelming and the top was completely sheer. So after figuring that about 6" of fabric needed to be taken out of the skirt I needed to figure out how to make the top a little less see through... I found a lightweight flesh colored knit and draped and pinned it on the inside of the bodice and then had stitched it to the lace/netting so the stitches would not show through. She was very happy.

Summer of Love exhibit at the De Young Museum. Great tour and behind the scenes look at couture garments influenced by the fashion of the streets. Go see it if you can.

I have been taking on more embroidery jobs. Just did four bowling shirts. Success! Now, instead of having someone else do the digitizing. I want to learn how to do it!

Sew, if I did this right, attached is one of the best instructions I have seen so far on how to adjust a bust dart for a full bust.

Updated the new screens for my studio. Plane canvas was just too boring. What do you think?

This is a stamp used to make batik prints. I know that is the wrong term. But a very cool and informative talk from our local Hoffman rep on their history with batiks and Hawian prints. One of the things she also talked about is Making sure to support your local fabric shops over buying on line.
