The Cineverse came from very humble beginnings. The idea was conceived by Joseph Tagnipes and brought to life by Cordell Crismon, David Brown, Nick Petoyan, Adam Bakr and Ricardo Do Monte.
It all started in January of 2010 when Dave and Cordell were discussing a movie they both recently watched and Joseph started to film the two with his flip camera. Little did we know at the time, that moment would represent the creation of what is now the Cineverse. After viewing the footage, Joseph decided it would be a great idea to share it with others, eventually deciding to turn it into a web series. The crew has been working together for over six years on various projects including: school assignments, college projects, shorts, documentaries and even filming for the sake of filming (Dave being the victim of many of the stunts and crazy characters). In 2007, Joe produced a short film with the help of Cordell, Nick, and Ricardo. With school and work a priority, it has since become a challenge to create and maintain the Cineverse but it is a "labor of love" that none of its members would trade for the world.
The goal of the Cineverse is to deliver audiences solid critiques of films and other social media from a fans point of view. We believe that you don't need a degree in film or journalism to either appreciate the art within film or (occasionally) know when you have wasted your money. This attitude is a fundamental belief within the Cineverse that is brought forth in every episode. As a result, we have come to agree that our motto is "we waste our money so you don't have to."
Until next time,
See you at the theater!
