With 18 Satellites in Orbit, Galileo as the European GNSS Programmes officially launches the Initial Services on the 15th December 2016. These Three Services are composed of:
* OS Open Service as a freely accessible service for positioning, navigation and timing for mass market users
* SAR Search & Rescue Service to locate distress beacons and confirm the successful message reception on emergency situations
PRS Public Regulated Service is an encrypted service designed for providing higher robustness in challenging environments only for governmental authorized users.
