#ThrowbackThursday to when Academy alumnus Adam Scott (Class of '93) shared insider stories about his career (Parks and Recreation, The Good Place) in the industry with students at The Academy. Amy Poehler once said of her co-star: "Adam is such a rare combination of a tremendously real actor and a very facile, comedic performer." Scott will co-star in HBO's "Big Little Lies" in 2017. #AcademyAlumni #IndustryInsightSeries

"The Academy was a great experience for me. It really taught me a lot about what it is to be dedicated. It taught me a great work ethic and the importance of servicing the piece that you're working on—taking your ego out of it and bringing your talents to it, helping it to be realized through your other team members. It made me realize that acting is really a team sport."

Theatre Fact #16: It is considered bad luck to whistle on or off stage. Before the invention of communication systems, stage managers would use coded whistles in order to call cues. If an undesignated crewmember were to whistle backstage it could call an errant cue, often resulting in an accident or them losing their job.
